About Me

Hey there! I’m Andrea — a surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Ontario, Canada.

I have no formal background in graphic design or illustration. In fact, I began my career in health sciences. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and a Master of Health Science in Community Nutrition, and I worked as a Registered Dietitian before becoming a stay-at-home mom to our five children.

From there, my path became winding, unexpected, and very messy.

In the middle of raising kids, managing a busy household, and navigating the beautiful chaos of everyday life, I found little ways to keep creativity woven into my days.

What started as a creative outlet eventually blossomed into a full-time online business teaching people around the world how to make handmade greeting cards.

But about 10 years into that business, life shifted. My grandfather needed me, and I had to make the difficult decision to step away from the business and focus on caregiving and family life.

Now, after a decade devoted primarily to caregiving, I’ve found my way back to art in a completely new form through surface pattern design and illustration.

My work is inspired by nature, storytelling, and the beauty woven into everyday life. I’m drawn to organic shapes, clean lines, playful composition, lots of color, botanical elements, and artwork that feels both joyful and deeply human.

In many ways, my work has been shaped through all the creative paths I’ve explored over the years — paper arts, sewing, embroidery, weaving, mixed media, painting, and design — all of which continue to influence the way I create today.

More than anything, I want my work to make people feel something.

A sense of warmth. Nostalgia. Comfort. Beauty. Whimsy. Connection.

I love creating collections and illustrations that feel thoughtful, layered, and alive — artwork that can live beautifully on fabric, stationery, home decor, gifts, paper goods, and products designed to bring a little more beauty into everyday life.

I’m so grateful you’re here, and incredibly excited for this new chapter.
