Nouveau Chic Thank You & the winner of the EZ View Desktop
Posted on: Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
If you’ve been a blog reader of mine for any length of time then you’ll notice that today’s card is totally not my usual style of stamping. It evolved as a result of Stampin’ Up!’s new Lattice Big Shot die. The first thing I did when I pulled it out is die cut it out in Basic Black CS because I wanted to see what it would look like. As I was looking at it, it struck me that it would probably go well with the Nouveau Chic designer paper. So, out came the paper. I tried all sorts of different combos with different stamp sets using it as a background and a border until it finally occurred to me that it’s very striking on it’s own – that’s when I decided to use the Lattice itself as the focal point of the card. There’s really not much to the rest of the card – once I decided on the design it was all a matter of layering.
Instructions:
-
Mat a 5″ x 5″ piece of Nouveau Chic DP onto a 5 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Black CS.
-
Pierce a hole in the four corners of the DP with a paper-piercing tool and foam mat. insert a black brad into each hole.
-
Mat the DP onto a 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ textured Sage Shadow card front (created out of a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of textured Sage Shadow CS folded in half).
-
Die cut the lattice out of Basic Black CS using the Big Shot. Center and stick it onto a 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Sage Shadow CS. Mat the Sage Shadow CS onto a 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic Black CS.
-
Pierce holes where desired on the lattice and insert a small clear rhinestone brad into each hole.
-
Center and stick the matted lattice onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
-
Stamp the greeting onto a piece of Going Gray CS. Punch it out with the Modern Label punch. Sponge the edges with Basic Gray Classic ink.
-
Shape the label so that it curves outwards at the center and then mount onto your card using mini glue dots. You’re done!

I have not gotten this die yet but have been looking at it since I got a new catty in my hand! Love it. I could not figure out for the life of me what color green it was until I read the rest of your pose & the DSP… I have to get out the catalog for that one. That looks really nice too. Love this card & it stands on it’s own just the way it is.

I think the lattice die would work beautifully in shimmery white on a pastel card for a wedding. After all, a quilt with this pattern is called a wedding ring quilt!

Congrats to the winner! I’m jealous!! Very neat card — I’m not drawn to this paper yet – still trying but I’m not the sophisticated chic kind of person. I should get it just to appeal to that audience though! TFS!
