“Petals & Paisleys” Journal

Don’t you just love the papers in the new Spring Mini?  The colours are absolutely gorgeous! If you haven’t seen them yet be sure to check them out here.  

Although the paper is designed to go with the “Polka Dots & Paisley” as well as the “Polka Dots and Petals” stamp sets, there’s one particular flower in the design that looks really similar to the flower that I stamped from the “In Full Bloom” stamp set.  I colored the flower in using Stampin’ Up!’s Watercolor Wonder crayons and a blender pen. 

The journal itself I found at the dollar store – can you believe it?  Our dollar stores don’t usually carry journals as nice as this one.  I took the covers off, trimmed the So Saffron cardstock to fit and then used the 1/4″ square punch to punch out the holes for the binding. The cardstock was then adhered to the front and back covers of the journal using double sided tape. The covers were then put back on and the “Petals & Paisleys” paper, a strip of Taken with Teal cardstock and my stamped flower were then arranged on the front.  Last but not least I decorated the binding with ribbon.

I designed this journal as a project for our MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) group at church.
