Hugs & Kisses Valentine’s Card

Posted on: Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Hellooooooooo? Anyone there?  This morning both Soph and I were talking about how quiet it’s been here on the blog.  We’re starting to feel like we’re talking to ourselves and posting projects just for each other  . Even though we create because we love to and post because it’s fun to share our passion with others – it’s always nice to know when people stop by by.  We appreciate it very much and it helps keep us motivated to keep posting, plus it helps us get to know our readers better

Today’s card is another Valentine’s card.  I created this card as one of the Make and Take’s for my January team meeting.  It’s not a difficult card to make but has just enough added detail and bling to give it a little “wow” factor. Here’s how I made the card:

  1. Stamp the top half of the Crumb Cake card with the En Francais background stamp and Crumb Cake Classic ink.
  2. Center and stick a 2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Love Letter DP to a piece of 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ Basic Black CS that’s been scalloped, and then stick this to the card front.
  3. Die cut the large heart with the Hearts & Brackets die out of Cherry Cobbler CS and decorate with a rhinestone.
  4. Punch the smaller heart out of Real Red CS with the Full Heart punch, and dry emboss it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.
  5. Stamp a greeting onto a Scalloped Envelope that was die cut out of Whisper White CS using the Stampin’ Up! scalloped envelope die. Slide the hearts in and stick them down.
  6. Create a faux knot with Basic Black taffeta ribbon on the envelope.  Stick the envelope to the card front.  You’re done!

And now, the winners of the Bring On The Cake Class.  If your name was drawn, please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com and put “Bring On The Cake Blog Winner”  In the email please ensure that you let me know if you would like the Stamp Class by Email version or the Class Planner version for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

Wow, Andrea! I’d love to win one of these classes. I’ve been playing with the new stamp set and punch, and am lovin’ it! But your cards (and the box!) are adorable, and I know my customers will go “ga ga” over them! Thanks for all you do…and I can’t wait to see the new “Library”, too!

I am so excited about the videos being available. I loved them over the holidays! I have ordered your greenhouse gala cards as a “regular stamper” and I love it…gorgeous!! Now that I just joined SU I love that it can help my business take off. My favorite is when you show how to make the most of the paper and how to cut it and what size. How great is that!?!?!?! No wasted paper!! The birthday cards are so fun and how great that there are boy and girl colors!! Perfect. Thank you for all of your hard work and the chance to win.

WOW!!! I just love cupcakes…..now I think I love them even more. The card size is really a good idea. I have such a hard time remembering to make cards this size so I can use up some of my envelopes.
Thanks for offering a amazing give away!!

Hello ladies!

I must admit – I am one who likes to check things out quickly and then run… (I’ll admit it – I’m a blog-o-holic and I read tons of blogs every day)I don’t have my own blog, yet (I’ve been planning to start one for over a year and a half… LOL!) but I know if I did that I would want people to comment as well. I have been trying more and more to leave a comment whenever I view blogs but I haven’t been perfect! So sorry that you felt you guys were talking to yourselves!

I ADORE this card! I just wish I had everything to make it (though I’m close to having all of it!) This is a fantastic make and take card and I think it has a lot of the WOW factor – I don’t think a card has to be overly intricate or use tons of supplies or lots of bling or what have you… I love them simple, clean, classy and easy for others to create and that’s what you’ve made here! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Hugs,
Christine aka The Stampin’ Ninja

34

Ladies…no need to worry. Your fans are still out here. I signed up for your email notifications so I find that I don’t visit the blog as often and therefore don’t post comments. Shame on me! I think everyone is still trying to recover from the holidays and gearing up for SAB fun.

42

I definitely visit everyday — more than once a day. I’m so stingy with my comments because my time on the computer is so limited. I have a 7 yr old daughter (I know, you have lots of little ones, too, and it shouldn’t be an excuse) and she calls me all the time for Everything. Every little thing. I told her I’d change my name someday and I won’t tell her what it is.
Anyway, thank you for all the postings and the project samples. I love them. A lot of people love them. Still thinking about joining the PCL.

43

Yes, I’m here every morning before getting the crew ready for school and heading to work myself. I try to leave a comment each and every day because you both inspire me so and I know how hard you work. I love everything about today’s card–the heart peeking out of the envelope, the background writing, the ribbon….

44

Oh my goodness, you’re far from talking to yourselves. I check your blog every single day and am blown away by your talent. Leaving a comment isn’t something I do, but it’s always inspiring to see how creative you two are. Trust me, we’re here!

45

it’s beautiful!! :)
I’m from France and just discover your blog, it’s fabolous! :)
see ya tomorrow ;)

46

Hi! I’m regular follower too! I’ve been looking for inspiring Valentines & this is wonderful. TFS!

47

Andrea I LOVE visiting here……… I try to visit daily before I have to go to work…yuck,,,,,,,,, but don’t always have time to comment.
You gals do GREAT work and I’m sure EVERYONE Learns so much from the wonderful instructions you give us to increase our talent. I THANK you both for all your efforts. TFS

48

Love, love, love your blog. You’re definitely not just talking to each other! Thank you for sharing your creative genius! Sorry I don’t leave comments that often, but I’m here daily!

49

I am also a daily visitor— I always look forward to your designs and get a lot of inspiration from them. This card is nice and I will likely make one similar for my DH for Valentines day. THANKS for keeping a blog and sharing your talent with us.

50

I love your blog! I check it every day ecause you have such great projects. Sorry for not commenting more often.

51

Don’t ever get discouraged over the lack of comments. I’m sure a lot of visitors are like me, visit your blog almost daily but don’t take the time to comment. Thanks for all you do. Everything you share is wonderful and I often case your work. By the way, PCL is super and I would recommend it to all paper crafters! The videos are very thorough and helpful. Thanks!!

52

I know the feeling. . . I read your blog in the Google Reader, and we can’t comment there. Love your ideas though, look forward to every new post.

53

I agree with Ms. Howard. I receive an email notice of each new posting and definitely read it, view the video and usually save and print the .pdf. I’m a stalker of everything you and Sophia and your team do! I just hope that you don’t suffer burn-out and suddenly just disappear! You ARE loved.
/p

54

Andrea, I have never left a blog comment before, but I don’t want you to think you are talking to yourself! I LVOE LOVE LOVE your blog and your wonderful creations!
:)
keep up the awesome work girls!

55

We’re here and loving everything you sister stampers do for us. I’m an avid follower but don’t alway have time to post a comment.
I totally understand how you fell though because I have a blog and eventhough I’m a lazy blogger I love to receive comments.

Have a great day and thanks so much announcing me as a winner today on the ‘Bring on the Cake’ class winner. Whoo-hoo!

Debbie

58

I absolutely love your projects! I usually comment on every post you have but lately I haven’t. My computer has been acting up lately. It crashed, my husband fixed it, it crashed, my husband fixed it, internet didn’t want to work, my husband fixed it. Luckily I have a super, computer literate husband! Thanks for all your inspiration and congrats to the winners!

67

Andrea & Sophia,

69

Great card–love the hearts in the envelope!

70

oh wow, great card and please, don’t ever feel like there aren’t blurkers out here. because we are here, lurking on your blog ALL THE TIME!! so don’t fret. we love you!

71

I really like this card a lot…..may be making my own version for a special Valentine’s Day card :) The hearts popping out of the envelope is a really cute idea…….after all isn’t that what our hearts do for our significant other??

72

Well, even if we’re not commenting, we’re looking! I come to your blog often for inspiration. I truly feel your designs the best on the web.

This card is the perfect example. So cute and compelling. A simply elegant layout. I’m competely going to CASE it today.

I study your design and try to learn from them. Your use of color too. In this case, I’ve noted the ‘fussy’ background and how it works so well with the ribbon. So now I have to try a fussy stamp to see if the design needed the more retro stamp you used.

Andrea, you’re an artist. Thank you for sharing.

73

Another great card. Love the colors and the hearts. You two ALWAYS have amazing ideas. Guess your fans are better at reading than at leaving you comments – sorry! I for one can’t go many days without coming to the blog to check out what’s new and what fun stuff you guys are sharing. I guess I am lazy when the new project ideas simply pop up right into my inbox. Thanks for always sharing your ideas – they are enjoyed.

74

Thanks for inspiring my creative soul!
