Embossed Halloween Card
Posted on: Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Today I thought I’d share with you a very easy and fun Halloween card. I’ve mentioned before in posts that I don’t give Halloween cards, but I do love to make them along with all sorts of other fun Halloween treats. In the next few weeks I will be sharing some non-card Halloween projects with you.
You can watch a video on how I made the card below:
Directions:
- Run your embossing buddy over a 2″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Whisper White CS.
- Stamp the tree image from Stampin’ Up!’s House of Haunts stamp set in Basic Black CRAFT ink, onto the Whisper White CS.
- Sprinkle on Black embossing powder and heat emboss with your heat tool.
- Sponge the edges of the Whisper White CS with Elegant Eggplant Classic ink and a wedge of stamping sponge.
- Mat the Whisper White CS piece onto a 2-1/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Elegant Eggplant CS.
- Lay a 6″ piece of 1/4″ Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain ribbon across the 4-1/4″ edge of a 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Cast-a-Spell DP. Bring the ends of the ribbon around to the back of the DP and stick down with Snail adhesive.
- Center and stick the DP along the top edge of a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Old Olive card. Position the greeting onto the card front but do not stick down yet. Use it to help determine the placement of your greeting.
- Stamp the greeting from the Grateful Greetings stamp set in Basic Black Classic ink onto your card front.
- Stick the image piece to your card front, above the greeting.
- Pierce three holes to the left of the image piece, below the edge of the DP with a paper-piercing tool and foam mat.
- Insert three black vintage brads. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed this card.

I don’t give away Halloween cards either, but I seem to steer toward halloween products! I like your card and can “see” a scrapbook page layout within your card. Thank you for the inspiration!

I know exactly what you mean!! I love Halloween “colors” but for some reason, just don’t give cards for this occassion. I feel there are “more worthy” times for a sweet card.
Hope you have a great day!

Like you, I don’t give Halloween cards but I love to look at all the creations for the holiday. I made a card for my sister turning 50 that looked like a Halloween card. Inside I put a message about don’t let turning 50 scare you too much. This card you made is a great one that I could use for someone’s special birthday. You would just change the saying on the front. Thanks for the great idea. You are so inspiring.
