Easter Ride
Posted on: Wednesday, April 13th, 2011I wanted to do something fun with this older set. There has been lots of ‘been there’, and ‘done that’ with this set, so here is my take which is hopefully new! This style of card is based on Sankari Wegman. She always has intricate and beautful designs which are full of little details which make everything pop out! One of the things that I really love is her use of dimensional liquid pearls. I used them throughout the design in order to add visual interest. The layout is taken from another of Sankari’s cards. It is a card of a scooter on hills with the same type of scallop border.
For the chick, I decided to use the egg from the “Good Egg” set, and stamped it out on Whisper White CS. The egg was cut out, then sponged with Tempting Turquoise. I used the 1 3/8″ x 5//8″ large oval punch to cut the top area. Small dots of Dazzling Diamonds and pink glitter were applied using Crystal Effects. The wheels were made from generic buttons, and were stuck down using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The chick was stamped on So Saffron CS, then cut out. The chick was then sponged with Creamy Caramel. The beak was colored with Tangerine Tango marker. The chick was stamped out again on Whisper White CS, and then the egg shell was cut out and stuck down to the So Saffron chick. It was very simple, and fun to do! Hope you enjoy.

Love it. Your card is gorgeous. I’m a big fan of Sankari as well and have used her style once or twice. I also love how you used the SU Easter set with the egg to make a wagon.
