Christmas Snowflakes Card featuring the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set & the winners of the class and workshop planner

Posted on: Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Hi everyone – today’s post is a quick one featuring a Christmas card I created using a stamp set that’s a Stampin’ Up! oldie but goldie.  From the moment I saw the Serene Snowflake stamp set it was on my “must have” list – the snowflakes are absolutely gorgeous.  Stampin’ Up! really hit it out of the park with this one in my opinion! LOL

  1. Randomly stamp snowflakes onto a 3″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White CS using Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake Classic inks.
  2. Punch a border along a 3 3/8″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Not Quite Navy CS using the scallop trim border punch. Center and stick the Whisper White CS piece onto the Not Quite Navy CS piece.
  3. Take a 6 1/4″ piece of satin ribbon (non-Stampin’ Up), lay it across the top of the Whisper White CS piece (about 1/2″ down from the top edge of the Whisper White CS), bring the ends around to the back of the CS and stick them down. Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! didn’t have a coordinating ribbon – the Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake seam binding ribbons from the new mini were too light and the effect was washed out.
  4. Tie a 13″ piece of ribbon in a bow around the first piece.
  5. Stamp your greeting (from Contempo Christmas) in the bottom right corner of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake CS.
  6. Stick the image piece to the card front, about 1/4″ down from the top edge of the card.
  7. Embellish with rhinestones from Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Rhinestones collection.  You’re done!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.

I also wanted to announce the winners of the Vintage Valentine class and Aviary Workshop Planner. Wow, wow, wow. I LOVE this card. I struggle to make Christmas cards where green or red are not the main colors. This is just stunning! On a side note, when I die can I come back as a piece of your card stock?
