Cherry card, Inchie Questions Answered and Reminder of Workshop Planner Drawing
Posted on: Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009
Before I get into the explanation of this card, I am just going to answer a few questions that I had about my Inchie cards. First off a Inchie is a 1″ x 1″ canvas. When I use the word canvas, I am basically talking about the surface on which you create your work. It is the 1″ square that I work on. The work has to fit on this surface. Next I use cardboard ( from the back’s of the DP packs ) because it is stiffer and can take any abuse I put on it. You could just use CS but if you were doing any spraying of water, or adding glue to stick DP over, then the CS might buckle, that is why I use the cardboard. Hope this answers any questions you had. And I will most likely be doing more inchies lol, there are lots of fun projects I want to try out with them.
Well I have a quick little card for today that has a Valentines feel, but does not have to be used as such. I used the cherries from the skull set. I just love fruity, veggie or food images period. This one is fairly straight forward.
All Supplies Stampin’Up! Unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Sanded BG, Just Jawing, Quick Thinking ( retired )
Ink: Real Red ( marker and ink) , Rose Red ( marker ) , Chocolate Chip, Old Olive ( marker and ink ), Creamy Caramel ink
Paper: Bella Rose, Whisper White, Rose Red, Old Olive
Accessories: 5/8″ Real Red grosgrain ribbon, Celery fine glitter, White Signo gel pen, Coluzzle ( can now use the new circle cutter since the Coluzzle is discontinued), Scallop Edge punch, sponges, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamond glitter.
1. Color in your cherries with the Real Red, Rose Red and Old Olive markers. Cut out circle using Coluzzle (or new circle scissor plus) then cut out an Olive mat a size up. Sponge Olive with its matching ink and then mat cherries on top.
2. Cut Whisper White to create a card which is 3 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ Fold using creaser, and then sponge edges with Real Red ink. Ink up Sanded BG with Creamy Caramel and place front of card on top of rubber. Lightly press areas so that you end up with an un-evenly stamped BG. Stamp your greeting in Chocolate Chip.
3. Scallop your Rose Red and then mount your piece of DP over. Tie a faux knot on the Right Side. ( ribbon does not go all the way around, but rather it is adhered in the back and a seperate piece is used for the know). Cut the ribbon in a fish tail.
4. Mount your pieces on to the card and then place your cherries over using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now take your gel pen and dot your scallops, and do some stitching around your Olive circle, then to finish, using Crystal effects, glitter your Cherry leaf with Celery glitter, and glaze your cherries with crystal effects, and the smallest pinch of glitter. Don’t go heavy on the glitter for the cherries, you want subtle sparkle. Now your are all done!

I like the cherry card.. Normally, I am not a fan of cherry or food images on cards, but I like this one. I think it’s because it’s not overly done in the cherries..just the two cherries for the focal point.
