11th Birthday Card & a Video Featuring Stampin’ Up!’s Celebrations Collection
Posted: Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 | CommentsToday I wanted to share with you all a fun and easy birthday card I created for my son’s 11th birthday. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Celebrations collection – the Celebrations Designer Paper, the Celebrations Quick Accents and the Bday Party Rub-ons. These are some of my favourite products in the current catalog because the colors and designs are so bright and vibrant – they are perfect for kids, but even better – can be used for both boys and girls.
As part of my card design I decided to incorporate some fun metal accents, which I created by die cutting and punching a lightweight copper foil (copper on one side and silver on the other).
I decided to film a video for you all, to show you how I made the card.
Paper: Real Red CS, Whisper White CS;, Celebrations DP (Stampin’ Up!)
Accessories: Stars #2 Originals die, Cogs punch, Stampin’ Up! Timeless Type Alphabet Junior, Bday Party Rub-ons, Celebrations Quick Accents (Stampin’ Up!); Matte Accents (Ranger); Copper Premium Craft Foil (Spellbinder’s)
Stampin’ Up! Friendship Card With a You Tube Video & PDF Handout
Posted: Monday, April 4th, 2011 | CommentsDid you know that since we launched Paper Crafter’s Library on January 11, 2011 – we’ve added over 250 new videos to the library? I’m proud to say that we now have over 500 videos with more being added every day.
We have such a huge range of videos which generally fall into one of three categories. The first are videos that introduce you to specific products and teach you how to use them – so for example, for those of you with a particular interest in Stampin’ Up! products - we have a video on the majority of products in the catalogue. For those of you that like to use any type of product, we have plenty of those videos as well.
The second category of videos we have are technique videos. This encompasses a whole range of different things, but, if you have an interest in improving your coloring or watercoloring in particular – we have a big section on this – things like watercoloring with watercolor wonder crayons and die ink refills, techniques with Stampin’ Pastels and Pan Pastels, Color Pencil and Gamsol, coloring with Copics…..etc.
The third category of videos are completed project videos. Our completed project videos include regular cards; pop-up, fun fold and interactive cards; 3D items; punch art; card boxes, scrapbook pages; altered art projects are coming soon.
Pretty much every business day we upload between 2-5 videos – what that means is that regardless of what your particular interest is, there will be something there for you every week.
Today I thought I’d share with you all one of the many projects we’ve created for Paper Crafter’s Library members, and give you a taste of the type of videos they enjoy. For every completed project we create for the site, there is video as well as a downloadable pdf handout. The pdf handout includes supplies, dimensions and brief directions.

Bunny From Behind Punch Project
Posted: Thursday, March 11th, 2010 | CommentsWith Spring just around the corner, I felt that I absolutely had to celebrate by creating something totally cute and non-wintery! What better way to celebrate then with a fluffy, chubby bunny. I just love looking at rabbits. I love that pear shaped body and those liquid eyes. He was so easy to make and I have to say that I am pleased as punch with him! I figure that I can use hime as a tag for my Daughter’s Easter basket. I will just have to make one more for my Son’ s basket as I don’t think he will be happy if she has one and not him. Anyway, this is a really fast and easy project, and I hope you like it as much as I do
Another Papercrafts-inspired card and the winner of the free March Break Madness online class registration
Posted: Friday, February 12th, 2010 | CommentsToday I wanted to share with you another card layout that was inspired by the January/February 2010 issue of Papercrafts magazine – have I told you yet that this one of my favorite go-to places for inspiration *LOL*? This time the layout was from the free online cards that they make available in every issue. Now I saw the card in the magazine and not online so I unfortunately don’t have a direct link to provide you with.
You can download a pdf handout HERE. The pdf gives you a full supply list as well as written directions with dimensions so that you can re-create the card if you so desire.
You can watch the video below:
Directions:
- Take a 4 ¼” x 11” piece of Whisper White CS and fold it in half with your bone folder to create a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card.
- Center and stick a 3 ¾” x 5” piece of DP from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack onto a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Pretty in Pink CS.
- Stamp the birthday greeting from the Everything Nice stamp set twice onto a 2 ¼” x 4” piece of Pretty in Pink CS in Basic Black Classic ink (you are stamping the greetings one on top of the other). Use a stamp-a-ma-jig if necessary.
- Center and stick the Pretty in Pink greeting piece onto a 2 ½” x 4 ¼” piece of Whisper White CS.
Take a 10” piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon and tie it in a bow. Trim the ends on an angle. Stick the bow to the bottom of the greeting with a mini glue dot. - Take a ⅞” x 4” strip of Pretty in Pink CS and stick it about 1 ¼” up from the bottom edge of the DP.
Stick the matted greeting to the DP with 4 Stampin’ Dimensionals (one in each corner). Make sure there is about a ¼” space between the top and right sides of the greeting, and the edge of the DP. - Pierce two holes about ⅜” apart, on the strip of Pretty in Pink CS, just to the left of the matted greeting piece. Insert two white 5/16” brads.
- Center and stick the matted DP to the Whisper White card front. You’re done!
