Calendar & Note Pad Video Tutorial and PDF Handout

Posted: Monday, September 5th, 2011 | Comments (6)

A little late, but finally here!  As promised I’ve put together a free video tutorial on how to create my 2012 Calendar and Note Pad Tin.

The tin is 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 3/8″.  I had both the calendars and the note pads custom designed to fit inside the tin. The tin pictured on the left is the original one I am selling as a kit on the Sunny Stampin’ Blog. I’m also selling the calendars, the note pads, and the tins in bundles of 5 for any of you who want to create these tins in bulk (or offer it as a class if you are a retailer or instructor).

In the top picture you can see the tin I re-created using all Stampin’ Up! products.  We have a free video tutorial and pdf handout in the Paper Crafters Library Video library, which you access HERE.

Buttefly Blessings Card Video Tutorial & a PDF Download

Posted: Monday, July 25th, 2011 | Comments (22)

We’re Baaaaaaaaaaack!  How are you all doing?  I’m so sorry for being so blog negligent.  We were in CHA all of last week and didn’t end up having any real internet connection.  The hotel we were staying in was gorgeous, but there was no free wi-fi anywhere – they were charging $13 a day for internet access, and since we were barely in the hotel room all week, we figured it was kind of a rip-off.

About the best we were able to do was to upload some pictures and updates through my personal Facebook page (if you want a peek into my personal life then look me up on Facebook – Andrea Walford – and send me a friend request – just make sure you put in the comment section that you are a blog reader) and through the Paper Crafter’s World twitter (@pcraftersworld).

I have to tell you – Chicago is gorgeous. Soph and I had one day of touring on Friday and it wasn’t nearly enough! We visited Millenium Park and then we strolled all the way down the “Magnificent Mile” until we got to the Water Tower.  They have some amazing shopping on that strip.  I picked up some Lego for the boys at the Lego store, and then a few things for my daughter at the American Girl store (WOW! was that an experience in and of itself).  Of course there were also some chocolates for hubby from the Hershey store as well.

Anyways, since we haven’t really posted here much we decided that today we’d treat you to a video and a pdf handout of the Butterfly Blessings card shown above.

“Birthday Pennant Card ” Video Tutorial & Free Greeting Download

Posted: Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 | Comments (39)

Don’t you just love flags, and pennants and banners of all kinds?  Right now in the paper crafting world they are HOT, HOT, HOT – and Stampin’ Up! has made it easier than ever to incorporate these darling embellishments into your projects with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch just released in the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue.

Today I decided to create a fun birthday card using this punch.  It’s a pretty atypical size – 4″ x 8″ – which I chose simply because I needed the extra room for my banner.  For an envelope I’m planning on altering a business sized envelope (which I’ll show you how to do in another video coming soon).

Now in addition to a video tutorial showing you how this project was made and a pdf handout for you to download – I’ve also put together a FREE Pennant Greetings download for you. These are greetings that I created especially to fit onto the pennants – you can see that I used “happy” for mine.  You can either use the greetings as is, or if you can’t find a greeting you like, then punch out whatever letters you need and make up a greeting of your own.  You can either upsize or downsize your project depending on the length of the greeting you choose. For example – choose the full “happy b-day” and create a banner that stretches across a scrapbook page!

Download the pdf handout and greetings HERE.

I hope you enjoy today’s project!

Posts have been kind of sporadic here lately – I apologize for that. It’s just been one thing after another.  A few weeks ago I hired a virtual assistant so of course as with any job, there’s a lot of training that needs to go on.  I also recently contracted a few video editors for Paper Crafter’s Library – so that alone, between the job posting, interviewing and training is taking up a lot of time.

I had some major electrical work done in my home office – re-distributing some of the electrical load, adding some new dedicated outlets and improving lighting. We also added a third room to our set up here.  I have our studio where we do all of our design work, an office where myself and two-employees work, and now the third room – a video studio which is where we now do all of our filming.

Then on Saturday we had a minor flood in my studio when the main water pipe coming into the house sprung a leak.  Thank heavens it didn’t do more damage! So of course that had to be fixed.

Finally, on Sunday we picked up our new addition to the family – a little puppy we named Ginger.  She’s absolutely adorable!  She’s a little Pom-Poo (a cross between a Pomeranian and a Toy Poodle).  So that’s been a bit of an ajustment LOL!  (a good one though).

Anyways, on to today’s project.  I created this card using Stampin’ Up!’s Aviary stamp set.  I really wanted to have a greeting with a bird pun in it, but didn’t have any, so I created a bunch of them - and then decided to put it into a pdf format for all of you as well!

For those of you that have been asking, there will be a video for the super cute Mushroom On A Log Treat Holder in the Paper Crafter’s Library- it will be posted this week.

A Creative Way To Use Your Patterned Paper Scraps – A Video Tutorial

Posted: Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 | Comments (41)

Today’s card is a fantastic way to use up all those itty bitty pieces of patterned paper that you’ve been saving.  How do I know you’ve been saving them?  Well, most of us paper crafters seem to be hoarders and savers at heart.  How can we possibly throw even the teeniest piece away when we might just need it? So if you’re like me, then I KNOW you’ve got some.

The inspiration for this card came from THIS one that was created by Maille Bells.  I just re-created it in a standard-sized card (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).  It’s SO easy to change up – simply pick out your patterned paper pieces (and you can use two to four different patterns), and then choose a color of CS that coordinates with your patterned paper to create the base of the card.  I chose the Basic Black CS to accent the black ink that I used for the greeting.

The great thing about this card is that it’s an under 10 minute card – more like 5 or 6 minutes to make.
