Fall Season of Friendship Card, 2 NEW Online Classes & another give-away!
Posted: Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 | CommentsOh my goodness! Life is absolutely insane right now. There just aren’t enough hours in a day to get everything done. Tomorrow morning at 3 am the airport limo service is picking me up to take me to the London, ON airport and I’ll be off to Stampin’ Up!’s Founder’s Circle event. I’m super excited, but at the same time panicking because I haven’t even packed yet. I still have to go shopping to pick up a couple of things, I have to make sure everything is organized for the kid’s related to their activities and schedules while I’m gone…..and I sure hope I don’t forget my swaps!
Anyways, because things have been so hairy, I still haven’t been able to keep to my regular posting schedule, so please accept my apologies for having to cram everything into one post. Today I wanted to share a card with you, plus tell you about out two upcoming online classes. First off, here’s how I made the card:
-
Cut a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Pear Pizzazz CS and fold it in half to create a 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ card. Set aside for a moment.
-
Cut a 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Whisper White CS. Stamp the tree from the Season of Friendship stamp set onto the Whisper White CS piece in Chocolate Chip Classic ink.
-
Stamp the leaves in three colors of Classic ink: Certainly Celery, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive.
-
Stamp 9 sets of leaves in Pear Pizzazz Classic ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS. Cut them out leaving a small border around them. Set aside for a moment.
-
“Faux thread” 6 small red buttons using Real Red CS. Stick them to the tree with mini glue dots.
-
Arrange the cut out leaves around the buttons and stick them to the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
-
Add small dots of Crystal Effects to the tree and sprinkle on Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
-
Center and stick the Whisper White CS to a 5″ x 5″ piece of Pear Pizzazz CS.
-
Stamp the greeting “thanks” onto a scrap of Whisper White CS in Chocolate Chip Classic ink. Punch it out with the small oval punch.
-
Stick the punched greeting to the inside of the dotted oval silver hodgepodge hardware frame with mini glue dots.
-
Thread a 6″ piece of the 1/8″ Real Red taffeta ribbon through the silver oval & lay it across the bottom of the Whisper White CS piece. Position the silver frame slightly towards the left of the card and hold it in place with mini glue dots. bring the ends of the ribbon around to the back of the Real Red CS and stick them down with SNAIL adhesive.
-
Tie an 8″ piece of 1/8″ Real Red taffeta ribbon in a bow, around the first piece of ribbon, to the right of the silver frame.
-
Center and stick the Real Red CS piece to the card front. You’re done!

Posted: Thursday, April 29th, 2010 | Comments*Winner of the FREE class registration will be announced on Friday, May 7th.*
*ETA (May7th): this contest is now closed however you can still register for the classes*
It’s time for another online class, and let me tell you, we are very excited, because we have not ONE, but TWO different upcoming online classes to share with you today following our new class format.
First up we have an exciting class of cards only featuring pop-up action, as well as some really cool and fun folds! We have had a lot of you asking for more cards, so this exciting class is dedicated to you. Think of it as extreme card making
.
Here’s what the class includes:
- This class runs from May 17th – May 28th. We’re running the class over a 2 week time period, instead of our old 1 week class, so that you have more time to create and share your projects with your online classmates.
- In this class you’ll learn how to make 5 projects + a bonus project (the one shown in the picture). All the projects minus the bonus will include templates so that you can make them no matter what tools you own. That means that you will not have to scour your local craft store looking for alterables or die machines. The bonus project was designed to show you how to use one of the fantastic pop-up ball dies which Stampin’ Up! offers.
- The projects will be posted on the Monday, Wednesday & Friday of each week
- A Video tutorial for EACH project
- A pdf handout for EACH project
- A daily forum
- A project gallery to share your own work
- ONE fun chat session where you can chat with Soph and I and your fellow classmates
- The classroom will remain open until the end of July
The second class we’re offering is ALL scrapbooking! A number of you have expressed a desire to see a scrapbooking class but we’ve been somewhat hesitant to offer one as we weren’t sure what the overall interest level would be. We’ll be deciding whether or not to follow up with more scrapbooking classes based on the response to this one.
Here’s what the class includes:
- The class runs from June 7th – June 18th, once again we’re offering this as a two week class.
- In this class we’ll be sharing with you 5 single-page and one bonus double-page 12″ x 12″ layout. Each layout is for multiple photos.
- Each layout will be presented as a sketch and then as our take on the sketch. You can follow our pages exactly or adapt them to your own photos and to your own supplies
- A pdf handout of each layout including the sketch, a photo of our sample, dimensions, a full supply list and written directions.
- Video tutorials for some of the techniques featured in our scrapbook pages. Please note that unlike our other online classes there may not be a video per layout.
- a forum
- a gallery to share your projects with your classmates
- one fun chat session with both Soph and I and your fellow classmates.
- The classroom will stay open until the end of August
The Early Bird price per class is $22.97, however, if you sign up for BOTH classes then you pay only $19.95 PER CLASS for a total savings of $6.00. If you decide to sign up for both classes then you will need to use the coupon code: onlineclassdeal. To use the coupon, first add both classes to your shopping cart by clicking on each link and then enter the coupon code into the appropriate section of the cart and hit APPLY (if you don’t click on “apply” then the cart won’t calculate the discount).
Fun Folds and Pop-Up Cards Class Early Bird Price: $22.97
Simply Scrappin’ 101 Class Early Bird Price: $22.97
If you’ve been on the wire about taking one of our online classes, now’s the time to give it a try! Remember though, the Early Bird Price is only good until May 15th, after that price goes up to $24.97 per class.
As is our custom we are giving away 1 FREE class registration to BOTH classes. To enter in our give-away please leave us a comment in the comments section below. As part of your comment please let us know which class excites you the most and what type of future classes you’d like to see.
