Be Mine Valentine’s Card
Posted on: Monday, January 17th, 2011Today’s post is a pretty quick one – quicker than I had planned actually. Over the last two weeks we’ve had the flu running through our house and it’s been hitting one child after another. I guess the only bright side is that it’s been hitting them one at a time rather than all together.
This past weekend my 10 year old son had it. So while my husband was gone a good part of the weekend to a hockey tournament with my oldest son, I was home with the others and trying to help him out - the poor guy just couldn’t keep anything down. Thankfully today he seemed better, and I think that tomorrow he’ll get to go back to school.
The card I’m sharing with you today is actually one that I created for Paper Crafter’s Library. It uses one of my favourite color schemes - I just love the extra punch of color from the So Saffron and Tempting Turquoise on the flower. The flower is actually not a stamp – it’s a rub-on – which is why it shows so beautifully against the Crumb Cake CS background. It’s from Stampin’ Up!’s Play Date rub-on collection.
As you can see from the symbol on the bottom right corner there is a video for this card in the Paper Crafter’s Library, as well as a video on all the tips and tricks I’ve learned about applying rub-ons. Although they’re something that I use over an over again now, they took a bit of getting used to and learning the ins and outs of when I was first introduced to them.
Other news – our first Sunny Stampin’ Project ideas newsletter was released this weekend – my sister did a stinkin’ cute Valentine’s treat box. If you are reading this and you haven’t signed up for our newsletter – you can do so from the sign up box in the top right corner of the blog. We’re releasing a fantastic project twice a month with a free video and pdf.
I had a few people email me to remind me that I haven’t announced the winners of the Bring On The Cake Class Planner – I’ll do that in my post tomorrow. I’m just way too pooped tonight (with my son being sick over the weekend I got almost no sleep).
I also wanted to take a minute to thank you guys for the overwhelmingly positive response I’ve had about our new site Paper Crafter’s Library. There were a few negative nellies – but there always are. Overally we’ve been receiving fantastic feedback and I think the excitement of all our new members matches ours.
Anyways – have a great night and we’ll be back tomorrow with another post.

I love the simple lines of this card. All of the details that you included like to embossed dots make this a visually appealing card.
