Enter to Win “The Write Stuff” Class Planner & Stamp Class by Email
Posted on: Friday, January 15th, 2010By · Comments
It’s one of my favorite times of the month again….time to share my all new class & to give-away some more goodies. I had so much fun designing this month’s Stamp Class by Email and Class Planner. I used “The Write Stuff” Specialty DP to create this all-occasion office-themed card set.
You can see the picture of the DP collection above. It was a lot of fun working with this DP because there are three different patterns of die cut sheets. For this class I actually created THREE sets of the projects – one for each of the die cut sheets. Each project set uses the same layout as the cards & box shown in the main picture, but they each use different die cut elements. So if you’re doing these projects just for yourself, you’ll end up with three slightly different project sets from the one package of DP. If you’re a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and you’re wanting to run this as a class, each person in your class will get only ONE of the three die cut sheets, and then they’ll follow the instructions to create the cards for THEIR die cut sheet. Cool isn’t it?
You can get the Class Planner version for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators HERE and the Stamp Class by Email version from HERE (please note that for the Stamp Class by Email version I’m having trouble accessing the back end of my store so right now when you click the link it puts it right into your shopping cart. As soon as I can fix it, I’ll upload it into the Sunny Stampin’ Store). The difference between the two is that the Stamp Class by Email version only includes the step-by-step photo tutorial for the projects. The class planner version includes a demonstrator guide (chock full of info you’ll want if you’re planning on running a class), a marketing flyer, an advertising photo, a blog post and a class handout.
As I do every month, I’m giving away 5 free class planners. Please leave me a comment in the comments section of this post and on Wednesday of next week I’ll announce the winners.

Last chance to order your Calendars for the Calendar & Note Pad Tin!
Posted on: Friday, January 15th, 2010By · Comments
Remember the Calendar & Note Pad tins I posted in December? This was a 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ CD tin which I altered to create this gift. I was selling some of my finished tins as last-minute Christmas gifts, but I had also put just the calendars & note pads in my store.
The calendars and the note pads were custom-designed to fit the tin, so they are not something you can find anywhere else. I had made them available in my Sunny Stampin’ Store in bundles of 5 for any Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that wanted to offer this as a class to their own customers, and had a special offer where you would get the pdf instructions free when you ordered either the tin or some of the bundled calendars/note pads.
I ran out of the calendars in early January and wasn’t going to make any more 2010 calendars, but I’ve received a number of requests for the 2010 calendars, so I’ve gone and ordered more and added them into my store. So…if you missed out on ordering them, now’s your chance! I’ve got a limited supply of the calendars available and will keep them in my store until the end of January or until they sell out – whichever comes first. I also have a limited supply of the fully finished tins left.
I do want to mention that they are refillable – so you can refill the notepad & the calendar each year. 2011 calendars will be available starting in September.

I think the favorite thing I like to do with my husband is to laugh. We can be having a conversation or something funny is said or done and we are both laughing–I find myself thinking this sounds and feels good. I enjoy that moment of being able to have him in my life and that we can laugh together even if life isn’t a bowl of cherries at that time. He can make me smile and enjoy that moment.
Congratulations Monica! To claim your prize please email us at andrea@sunnystampin.com. Be sure to put “Online Valentine’s Class Winner” in the subject line of your post. If you already signed up for the online class then you will get the next online class absolutely FREE.

Party Time Punch Project
Posted on: Thursday, January 14th, 2010By · Comments
This card idea totaly came from a new die release from a well known die company. Since it is not released yet, I won’t mention the name, but I will edit this when it is released. I have a friend who allows me to see the dies ahead of time. I wanted to do this image because I looked at it and realized how easy it would be for anyone to reproduce with some punches and a circle cutter. In case you are wondering, the black lines are meant to show the shaking of the alarm clock as it rings. Now I thought this card would be really cute for a birthday invite or for anything that can use a play on the word time. For instance, how about adding some wings and the saying ” time flies when you are having fun”. Anyways, my video was certainlya fiasco today lol. The video shown is my second attempt. The first attempt was ended when my Platinum paint was knocked over and spread across the whole of my project. Needless to say I was definitely having a butterfinger day. Well I hope you liked today’s project and I will see you guy again next week!
You can downlaod a pdf of the handout HERE.

Valentine’s Glassine Bag Treat Holder
Posted on: Wednesday, January 13th, 2010By · Comments
I was so excited when I saw that Stampin’ Up! is carrying Glassine bags in their Occasions Mini Catalogue! There are so many neat things you can do with them. Over the coming weeks you’ll probably see me share a variety of different ways they can be used. One of the projects in our Online Valentine’s Class is actually a mini scrapbook using the glassine bags. In today’s project I show you how to emboss the glassine bags using the Big Shot & the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions folder. I also show you how to apply rub-ons to chipboard and curl designer paper so that it looks like ribbon. You can see a close-up of the decorative accent I created for my glassine bag below.
If you’ve never embossed a surface that is LARGER than the size of the embossing folder, I suggest you watch the video for some tips on how to do it. I had to divide the video into two segments because You Tube only allows a maximum of 10 minutes per video and this project took me just over 15 minutes from start to finish.
In Part 1 of the video you’ll see how I created the embellishment. The video features three different techniques: coloring chipboard with craft ink, applying rub-ons to colored chipboard and creating the curled paper ribbon.
In Part 2 of the video you’ll see how I dry embossed the glassine bag using the Big Shot & an embossing folder, as well as how the final project was assembled.
You can downlaod a pdf of the handout HERE. The pdf includes a photo of the project, full supply list, dimensions and written step-by-step directions. There is also a link to this post so that you can come back and view the video if necessary.
I have also included the written directions in this post so that you don’t HAVE to download the handout if you don’t want to. Plus I’ve heard from some Mac users that they aren’t always able to download the pdf.
Directions:
- Take a 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” Glassine bag and emboss it using your Big Shot & the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder. You’ll need to run it through in 2 different sections as the bag is too large to fit inside. Please refer to the video to see exactly how it was done. The “sandwich” used was the multipurpose platform open to the innermost panel, a cutting pad, the embossing folder with the glassine bag inside, and finally the standard premium crease pad.
- If you are filling your bag with baked goods then you may want to place them inside a medium cello bag so that they do not stain the glassine bag. Place your cello bag inside the glassine bag, and fold the top over (I did not secure it closed although you could do so if you desire).
- Wrap a 15 ½” piece of Real Red Double Stitched Grosgrain ribbon around the treat bag and then overlap and stick one end of the ribbon to the other end with Snail adhesive.
- You will now need two chipboard hearts in a larger and smaller size. I used the hearts from a retired Stampin’ Up! chipboard collection – you could use the On Board Essentials Chipboard collection, or use the Hearts & Brackets Original die (item #115955).
- Ink up the larger heart in Real Red Craft ink and the smaller heart in Pretty in Pink craft ink. Let air dry, or to speed up the drying process you could use a heat tool.
- If desired, add a rub-on greeting to the Pretty in Pink Heart and then stick the Pretty in Pink heart to the Real Red heart using Crystal Effects.
- Punch a hole through the Real Red heart with a handheld 1/16” circle punch and insert a Real Red epoxy brad.
- Place a small line of Crystal Effects all around the outer edge of the Real Red heart and then sprinkle on some white Chunky Essentials glitter. Let dry.
- Cut some ¼” wide strips of Sending Love DP (in whatever pattern and length you desire – make sure they are least 6” long). Wrap them around the handle of a small paintbrush or a pencil to curl. Stick them to the back of the Real Red chipboard heart with mini glue dots.
- Stick the Real Red Chipboard heart to the Real Red Double Stitched Grosgrain ribbon with a pop up glue dot. You’re done!
