6″ x6″ Tag Pouch….& the last Holiday Blitz winner
Posted on: Monday, December 22nd, 2008
Thank you so much for all your emails of concern about my whereabouts. Other than being worn out from the inevitable Christmas Season busyness, I’m doing okay. Last Wednesday evening we went to the annual Christmas Program put on by my kid’s school. My kids go to a private Christian School and the annual Christmas program happens to be held at our church. I always enjoy it so much every year. There is usually one song by the JKs, the primary choir (SK – Grade 4) and the senior choir (Grades 5 -8). This year was the first year that my daughter (who is 5 1/2 and in SK) was on stage for a good part of the evening. Last year, when she was in JK, the JKs only did one song. By the time they’re in SK, they’re on stage for about 15 min. I can certainly understand why the teachers don’t keep them on any longer than that. The SK’s were all in the front row – the teacher seated them so that it was boy, girl, boy, girl. I think she was hoping that the girls would help keep the boys from getting too out of hand. The little boy that was seated beside my daughter was so wiggly – he kept fidgeting, lifting his arms in the air, kicking his feet, swaying from side to side. You could see that my daughter was trying so hard to focus on the teacher and ignore his behavior. At one point he started poking at her, so she turned to him quickly, gave him a ferocious scowl and started wagging her finger at him – chastising him. All of sudden she heard the giggles in the audience, turned and faced us, clasped her hands together between her knees, and with her head tilted to the side, gave us this abashed little grin. Of course we all just started laughing even harder. I was trying to video tape the event and was trying so hard to stop laughing so that the video camera wouldn’t shake.
Thursday and Friday I spent the day working on a secret project – I say secret ,because I can’t yet release the details – but it’s coming soon *wink* Saturday night I had a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband and we had 14 adults and 12 kids here. Boy was it a madhouse, but my husband was so surprised and so touched – it was all worth it! Sunday I pretty much spent recovering from all the chaos – both figuratively and literally (i.e. the mess!)

Today I’m sharing with you a quick and easy project I put together. It’s a tag pouch which I created using one of Stampin’ Up!’s 6″ x 6″ page protectors. It is SO EASY to make.
- Take a 6 1/2″ x 8 3/4″ piece of CS. With the 8 3/4″ side aligned with the top of your personal paper trimmer with scoring blade, score at 2″ and 2 1/4″. Fold along the score lines using your bone folder.
- Decorate the flap as desired.
- Take one of Stampin’ Up!’s 6″ x 6″ page protectors. Trim off the side with the holes (you want it to stay sealed so be sure you don’t cut the side seal off). Line all four edges of the page protector with sticky strip.
- Remove the backing from the sticky strip. Center and sticky down to the CS holder.
- Use velcro to create a closure.
To create my tags, I simple used up a bunch of my Holiday Treasures DP, some ribbon, silver cord, silver brads and a snowflake which I cut out using my Big Shot. Really you could make any type of tags you like. And that’s all there is to it!
**********************************************
Well, as you read from the title, my Holiday Blitz is officially over and today I’m announcing my last winner until January 1st when I release my January Class Planner. I will be posting between now and the New Year, but I’m not sure how exactly how often as I have to fit it in around the rest of my Christmas preparations (I’m STILL not done shopping *sigh*).
Okay, and now on to today’s winner…..drumroll please……the winner of the Holiday Blitz Day 24 blog give-away is Karen Robinson! Congratulations! In order to draw my winners I use the website www.random.org so that the winner is randomly drawn. Karen, please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com in order to claim your prize!
Karen will receive the pdf tutorial for this ornament-shaped gift box. As with all the templates I feature, this project is based on a custom-designed template I created to simulate the look of a Christmas Tree Ornament. The dimensions of the box are 6″ wide, 5″ high and 2″ deep. It holds a LOT of treats! The tutorial will include a supply list, dimensions, template and over 30 photos with step-by-step directions. If your name hasn’t been drawn in all the days I’ve been doing this give-away and you’re interested in your own copy of this tutorial, you can pick it up at my Sunny Stampin’ Store for only $12.95.
