Stampin’ Up! Make-Over Monday Card
Posted on: Monday, May 26th, 2008
Do you have tons of scraps of designer paper left over from other projects you’ve made? Scraps that seem too small to make a card with, but you’re hesitant to let go of, because they’re too beautiful to part with and they just might come in handy for a project some day? Well here is the perfect solution for you! As I was blog browsing I came across THIS CARD and thought it would look so perfect with Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Prints Series papers and coordinating ribbons. Even though it’s not Tutorial Tuesday today, I decided to put together a little tuturial with dimensions and a few pictures to show you how I did it.
Step 1: Cut your Whisper White Card base, fold in half using bone folder. Take another piece of whisper white CS 3 1/2" x 5 1/4", and three strips of DP (one of each color: Soft Sky, Bayou Blue and Groovy Guava) that were each 1 1/2" x 3 1/2".

Step 2: Using Snail or another adhesive of choice, attach just the top half of each strip onto the 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of whisper white CS. By mounting the strips of DP to a white CS backing it gives it a bit of rigidity and makes it easier to punch an even scalloped border.

Step 3: Once your DP is mounted to the white CS, punch a scalloped edge using the 3/16" corner rounder punch with the guard removed. If you are unsure how to do this check out this tutorial by Beate Johns. Once your edge is scalloped, tie a 7 1/2" piece of ribbon in the coordinating color around each piece of DP in a knot. Make sure your ribbons are aligned in a row, then stick down the bottom half of the DP to the whisper white base.

Step 4: Stamp the greeting from the Fresh Cuts stamp set onto the bottom right of the card, add a silver brad on either side of the greeting.

You’re done! Now it’s your turn. Find a totally non-Stampin’ Up! card or project that you love and re-create it using all Stampin’ Up! product. Colors can change but layout has to stay the same. Post your creation to your blog under the heading "Monday Make-Over Challenge" and link to this post. Once you’ve done that, leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post. That way everyone can see it. If you don’t have a blog, you can upload your card to Splitcoaststampers (www.splitcoaststampers.com). In the keywords section add AWMMay26. In the description, link to this post, then leave a comment with the link to your SCS upload.
Any one can enter (including SU demos). Every project you make gets you one entry. On the first Monday of the following month (so the first Monday in June), I will draw a name and the winner will receive an item from the current Stampin’ Up! catalog valued at $14.95 CAN or less, which I will mail to you! Come on and play!
