Christmas Pudding Punch Pal
Posted on: Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
I keep waiting for an easy week to happen, and it does not seem to arrive! I am sure that many of you can relate to this. There is no such thing as a perfect moment, only moments which must be siezed. I finally gave up trying to get the perfect silence in my house for filming. I know many of you expressed that the chaos did not bother you, so from now on, quiet or loud, I will film. Today on my third take as I filmed, my son was again trying to sneak out of his room for about the tenth time. After reading all the stories of other peoples kids, I have been able to relax more and realize that I am not the only one with a challenging child. It is not so much the happy noise that had been driving me batty, but rather the screaming and yelling which insued every time my Son busted into his sisters room and raided her Halloween candy. Then there was the fighting that happens when he throws cars at his older sister, or the times he tries to sit on the baby and my daughter tries to keep him from doing that. Always, always, always there is some drama going on
.
Well this weeks project is pretty easy. It takes all of one punch. And it takes very little time to make. I actually love how it turned out, and its all because of the icing . There is just something about the image of icing dribbling down a cake in thick sweet globs….mmmmmmmm………..ok, now I am definitely making myself hungry!
Tutorial:
- Make your Christmas Pudding and then set aside. Now using your Stampin’Up! two tags die, cut out the folding tag from Chocolate Chip CS. Now sponge the tag with Basic Black ink, set aside.
- Cut out your Whisper White mats to fit the tag and sponge them with Ruby Red Classic ink. Add a little bit of Kiwi Kiss (retired) or Old Olive sponging. Stamp with the Bella Toile BG stamp and Ruby Red Classic ink.
- Stick the decorated panels to the tag, and then stick the Christmas pudding to the top front of the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- You are done!

The pudding does look yummy and the card part is very clever. Thanks for your hard work in the face of adversity. I had my 3 grandchildren today and I am definitely getting too old and corporal punishment is not an option like in the old days. Keep on keeping on. We love what you do. Thanks.

I’m not big into the punch stuff, but you come up with some cool suff =D And these tags are really cute and, of course, practical for the season. TFS!

What a darling Pie. Oh such a sunny and fun house you have, with all the laughter of the children and maybe sometimes not so much laughter. To have those years back, I would give anything. Treasure them while you can, they are only young once. Again, you have outdone yourself. Have a wonderful day!

Very sweet card! Your stories about your kids always make me laugh! Hang in there!

Fun tag! As for the kids, all too soon they will be grown and perhaps even inseparable friends. I have 8 kids – there were days when I wondered if they’d ever be friends. Time passed, the four oldest are now married and moved out. The friendship bonds that have grown between them, from youngest to oldest is incredible. I sometimes wonder if those fights/arguments and the making-up was some of the glue that’s eventually bonded them together.

How cute – and scrumptious looking
I have 2 girls 5 and 3(in a few weeks)- I totally get ‘drama’
We’ll survive LOL

ohhhhh cute! It satisfies my sweet tooth
PS. My four year old is the queen of drama and never sleeps. I think she goes until her batteries are dead, falls over asleep and then somehow has new ones in the middle of the wee hours of the dawn. Yup.

This is adorable! TFS
You should try the little rubber “condom” protectors for fingers..you can get them in the drug store where you buy band-aids etc. They work great for keeping your fingers clean. I always have some handy.
Or the blue painters gloves at HD would work better than the ones you have on..they fit better ..
Thanks

Love your tag! I am not a fan of Christmas Pudding, but I do agree it looks good enough to eat with that icing running down the sides.
Thanks for sharing another great punch creation!

This is the only time I’ve ever thought Christmas pudding looked yummy! I didn’t even notice the kids in the background. It was funny when you had to take off the glove I was wondering if that was going to work, guess not. Guys get away with having grease all over their hands I think it is ok for us to have ink on ours!

I love this tutorial, very cool!!! I hope things at home start to get better
I got SOOOOO lucky with my daughter and never had many trying issues with her when she was younger, but I guess I am getting it now since she turned 13!!! It is pure craziness, lol. My sister onthe other hand has been having the SAME issues you r going thru and she has her third due the end of Jan. I see what she has to deal with and thank God everyday that my daughter waited to pull stuff with me after we were settled down in life. We had to deal with her father passing away when she was 6, so I am grateful that I wasnt given too much to deal with all at once.

This is so sweet I LOVE it.. and it looks so yummy to perfect combo! (((HUGS))

Sophia- I love your tutorials. You’re shading is incredible. Makes everything beautiful. And I love how you talk to “us”- it’s like we are right there…”running out of time as usual”…that sounds just like me. Thanks so much for your great work and keep them coming. I feel like you are my sister now!!! Sandra

My 2 children(boy and girl)are grown and have children of their own. It is so fun for us all to talk about the crazy things the kids did to each other…my son recording (with a cassette player) my daughter screaming and throwing a temper tantrum, and other things like that. They are best of friends now, and I think those experiences give them wisdom for handling their own children’s antics.
I love the Christmas pudding and I’m off to make one now! (tag, not a real one.) Joyce

This is very cute. I will definitely need to make some of these. As for the noise and chaos, enjoy it while you can. They are little for such a short time, and all of sudden they grow up, are driving, and off to college. The house is so quite you don’t know what to do, and you can’t wait until they get home so the chaos starts up again. My youngest just went off to college this fall, and the nest is not only empty but really quiet. My husband and I are really missing all of that noise, commotion, and craziness. So, again, just roll with the punches.

I love your punchy ideas! Keep em comin’!
December 6th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Love your christmas pudding idea. I have to confess that I was wondering if it was from a stamp that I didn’t remember seeing. Thanks for showing us how to shade and give it dimension. If your children didn’t fight they wouldn’t be normal. It’s part of learning how to get along with others. It is only annoying to mothers! Brenda
