Friday Fun Folds: Halloween Treat Holder
Posted on: Friday, October 16th, 2009
Today I wanted to share with you a really quick, easy and fun way to package up your Halloween treats. If you have school-aged kids and you’re the mom that likes to send the hand-stamped Halloween treats to school for your child to hand out to his/her classmates, then this is the project for you.
Directions:
- Take a 3″ x 12″ piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper and fold it in half using your bone folder.
- Slide your word window punch onto one of the 3″ edges as far as it goes, center it between the left and right edge and punch.
- Place your DP with the punched “window” face up on a foam mat and pierce a hole in the top left and right corners with a paper-piercing tool and foam mat.
- Insert a More Mustard brad from the Earth Elements brad collection into each hole (the More Mustard brads look kind of orange and coordinate well with the Pumpkin Pie CS).
- Lay your 3″x 12″ piece of DP on the grid paper in front of you with the pattern that is going to be on the outside face down. Have the punched “window” oriented towards the left side – this side is your front panel – the other side will be the back panel. Starting at the insider of the score line on your back panel, run a piece of Sticky Strip along the left and right edges of the DP.
- Peel the red backing from the Sticky Strip and stick the front and back panels together.
- Insert the treat into the pouch you created. It will be a bit snug – that is how it was designed so that your treat won’t easily fall out.
- Tie a 13″ piece of Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon around the pouch in a knot.
- Punch the tag from the Eat, Drink and Be Scary stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White CS in Basic Black Classic ink. Punch it out with the small tag punch. Punch out a larger tag with the large tag punch out of Pumpkin Pie CS.
- Mat the small tag onto the larger tag with Snail adhesive. Punch a hole through the top of the matted tag with a 1/16″ handheld circle punch.
- Tie the tag around the Pumpkin Pie ribbon knot with a 5″ piece of Silver Elastic Cord. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed this project! Check back later today because I’ll have the newsest Stamp Class by Email and Class Planner posted.

Andrea, these are darling. I just completed making 18 trick or treat bags with a topper-real easy. Maybe I will make some of these also. We usually don’t get too many tricksters! (10 last yr.) TFS
