World Card Making Day Countdown with the World Tour of Card Makers!
Posted on: Thursday, October 1st, 2009I want to warmly welcome all of you that may be visiting my blog for the first time via the Paper Crafts World Tour of Card Makers. I am so excited and honored to have been asked by Cath Evaldson, the Creative Editor at Paper Crafts Magazine, to take part in this event as one of the Canadian card makers!
As many of my long time blog readers know, Paper Crafts magazine is my absolute FAVORITE magazine and source I often turn to for inspiration. That’s why I’m so thrilled to be involved in this event and to share my passion for card making with other card makers around the world!
The World Tour of Card Makers is being hosted on Cath’s blog – Moxie Fab World- in honor of World Card Making Day, which takes place this Saturday, Oct. 3rd. For those you that may be unfamiliar with World Card Making day – it is a holiday that was founded initally as National Card Making Day by Paper Crafts magazine four years ago. It met with such fantastic worldwide response that it quickly became known as World Card Making day. You’re definitely going to want to join in the fun with card makers from around the world as we celebrate the joy of creating and giving handmade cards. Not sure how to celebrate? Check out the World Card Making Day Website for ideas!
The World Tour of Card Makers involves five days of blog hopping around the world with amazing prizes being offered each day. You can see the prizes over at the Moxie Fab World blog. You’ll have LOTS of chances to win, so keep reading, because I’ll tell you how at the bottom of this post!
The World Tour started on Monday with nine amazing artists from mainland Europe, Tuesday it was Australia and the UK, Wednesday we had Dominican Republic, Japan, Morocco, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Singapore, today we are touring Canada and then finishing on Friday in the US.
You can see the card I created especially for the World Tour below.

You can download a one-page pdf with supplies & step-by-step instructions for this card HERE.
Although not a difficult card, it incorporates a lot of different products and techiques so I thought I’d put together video showing you how I made the card.
Okay, and now on to how to win. First off, leave a comment here on my blog and then go to the Moxie Fab World blog and leave a comment there as well. From the Moxie Fab World blog you’ll be able to see one of my projects as well as the projects of the other World Tour participants. You can leave comments on THEIR blogs as well for even more chances to win. Limit: one comment per person per blog. You can check out all the prizes on the Moxie Fab World blog - there’s a different prize for each day of the tour. Comments will close at midnight on Sunday, October 4th (no matter where you live). Prize-winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 6th.
That’s not all though. During the celebration all cardmakers can upload their creations to the World Card Making Day gallery where they will be eligible to win prizes from both the Papercrafts Connection Blog and the Moxie Fab World blog. There is even a competition where you can have your cards published in Papercrafts Magazine and a blog tour where you can catch up with some talented cardmakers – check out their blogs for a coupon for 25% off PaperCrafts online store.
I am planning on celebrating World Card Making Day by kicking off my 12 Weeks of Christmas event. Can you believe it’s only 12 weeks until Christmas? Once a week for the next twelve weeks my sister Sophia and I will be sending out a special newsletter to email subscribers ONLY. Each email newsletter will feature a fantastic Christmas project ranging from cards, tags, gifts & gift packaging designed EXCLUSIVELY for this event. These will be projects that we will not be featuring here on my blog or in my regular email newsletters.
I’m sure you’ve probably seen plenty of other blogs advertising their own 12 weeks of Christmas but in true Sunny Stampin’ style – we’ve added our own unique twist. Each email will link to a PRIVATE WEB PAGE from which you will be able to download a pdf with the project instructions so that you can print it off and put it in your project ideas binder (don’t have a project ideas binder? – then you’d better start one *lol*). These pdf’s will be similar to the one I provided above for today’s card. Not only that though – on the private web page you’ll be able to watch an EXCLUSIVE, LIMITED video on how the project was done. Each video will only be available for ONE week. Once again, these videos are not going to be available for public viewing – they will not be uploaded either here or to You Tube. Best of all, the 12 Weeks of Christmas event is absolutely FREE! All you have to do to get in on this is join my email newsletter list - which you can do at the top right hand corner of my sidebar. So don’t miss out because the first email goes out Saturday!
