Christmas Elf Punch Video Tutorial
Posted on: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
Well I am back again this week and I have another Video tutorial for you today! I am really excited because I have brought home a video camera to work with, and will be posting video’s more frequently. The only downside is that I have to learn how to use it really fast. It came as a bit of a shock as to how much You Tube cuts the quality of the video, so you will have to bear with me if the images are not as sharp or crisp as you would like. Trust me, the ones on my computer are much nicer. So here you have it, this week we are going to be making a Peeking Christmas Elf. His name is Noddy, because it reminds my sister of a character from a kid’s show that we used to watch with the kids. I am quite happy with how he turned out. He is made using the Ornament punch from the Mini Catalogue. The tutorial is done up in two segments because we are only allowed to post 10 minute video’s max. on You Tube. Hope you enjoy!

Questions and Answers:
I decided to add a little section here to answer any questions which I recieve. I have been asked many times what you should do if you don’t have all the punches which I use in the Tutorial. Unfortunately there is no easy answer. I own all the Stampin’ Up! punches and when I am coming up with a project I envision what I want and then look at my punches to see which shapes best match my vision. Unfortunately, the less shapes you have to pick from, the harder it is. Try looking at what shapes you do have and adapt them to your needs, or you can simply sketch out the shapes and hand cut. For example in last weeks candy tutorial, you can make the fish tail ends of the candy by punching out a circle and then cutting out a V shape. Hope that helps
Hugs,

OMGoodness, he is way too cute. I normally don’t like a lot of punch art in general, but this little guy looks so good. Kinda reminds me of some of the stop-motion animation figures used in the classic holiday programs I grew up with. I can’t wait to watch your video and see how he was created. Thank you for sharing.

Soo cute, Sophia, you really have your own remarkable style.
Do you know the Quikutz Quikstik? Maybe it would be easier to assemble those tiny punch-outs with that really sticky pen.
Whatsoever, looking forward seeing new videos.

September 24th, 2009 at 1:57 pm

Noddy is adorable–I love the expression on his face. Great video!
September 24th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
I hesitated on getting the ornament punch other than it would make a quick easy Make & Take for any time. I have seen so many new things to create with this punch in the last month this is great. Yours of course is the most detailed. Love this little guy & the eyes & nose are just great & look so real.
Thanks for doing your punch classes each week. I have shared this website 3 times in the last week just because of punch teachings alone.
