What a blast we had at Demonstrator Stamfest!

Posted on: Monday, November 17th, 2008

I am feeling so rejuvenated right now!  We had such a phenomenal time at our first ever Demonstrator Stampfest this past weekend.  It was the perfect break from all the craziness in my life recently.  There’s nothing quite like being able to interact with your peers, share ideas and learn new things to implement into your business.  My head is so full of ideas I don’t even know where to start *lol*! The only thing I would have changed is having my sister Sophia there.  Because she lives in Petawawa – 6 hours away – she wasn’t able to attend :o (

I want to start by thanking every one of you that attended our event and made it the success it was. I really enjoyed meeting you and having the opportunity to get to know you better.  I  want to thank my partner (and second level upline) Donna Henley for all her hard work – she took care of most of the organizational details required in running such an event; our helpers throughout the day: Karen Harman and Erica Toet; the demonstrators who prepared the class outlines for Saturday – Tracy Wegener, Christina Clarke, Pat Duggan, Kathy Holmes, Wilma Stern-Cavalcante & Julie LeBlanc.  I also want to especially thank our AMAZING guest speakers: Glenda Travelstead and Kimberly Van Diepen whose ideas and experiences inspired and motivated us all. Although I helped with some of the organizational stuff, my biggest part in the event was as "creative director".  I was in charge of designing the projects and the associated project planning/prepping.

Today I’m going to share with you what we did on Friday, tomorrow I’m planning on sharing with you the Christmas Planner in a DVD tin I designed for Saturday’s Make & Take, and Wednesday I’ll share with you some of the swap cards.

Friday night started out with our Stamp-a-Thon. We had 44 Demonstrators that took part. You can see a picture below of them hard at work "playing" *lol* They got to make 20 quick and easy cards – and boy were they easy, easy, EASY!. Six of the cards were 3" x 6", six were 4" x 4" cards and the remaining cards were standard-sized. The cards were designed so that each card would take a demonstrator about 5-7 minutes to make – ideal projects to introduce new customers to stamping or perfect cards to integrate into a stamp-a-stack. I’ve got all 20 cards pictured below for you to see.  Hopefully you’ll pick up some great ideas too!

Andrea, I took one look at the ducky card and thought…With the “duck, duck” on the front, you should have a “goose” on the inside! All of these cards are great and they look like they’d be super-easy to make. I’ll definitely come back to this page if I need some inspiration for quick workshop make-n-takes down the road. Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous cards! I especially like how you posted them by size/orientation, but then again, everything you do is so detail-oriented, which is why I love so much of your work!! Take care, and hope the home situation is getting better.

The cards are incredible and thanks so much for sharing them, you do such beautiful work! Of course, your sister is also a gifted stamp artist…love seeing what she does when she is filling in for you as well.

Sounds like the stampfest was a fantastic time for everyone and I wish that I could have taken an international stamping junket to join you…but at least we could experience it vicariously through your blog so thanks so much for sharing the info and especially the photos of the great cards you did.
