The winner of my blog candy, & some fall/Thanksgiving cards
Posted on: Sunday, October 5th, 2008
Although Friday was supposed to be the day that I announced the winners of the blog candy giveaway, I unfortunately wasn’t able to get onto my internet. Remember in my last post when I mentioned the bunch of little- and medium-sized things that had been going wrong? Well one of them had to do with our internet. We get our telephone, cable and internet through the same company. When they came to hook everything up a week ago Friday, they discovered that NONE of the cables in the entire house worked – for some reason they wouldn’t receive the signal. So, they ended up having to re-wire the house. However, they ran into some unexpected problems while doing that and said that unfortunately, we may have problems with those service for awhile, until they got it all worked out. What’s happened is that we seem to be getting intermittent service – so one day my internet will work, the next day (or several days) it won’t. Or I’ll be able to get onto one website and not another (of course the ones I can’t get into always seem to be the ones I NEED to get into). Or the signal is so weak that it takes forever to upload anything and the computer freezes – Friday was such a day , as was Saturday. Today thankfully I’m able to get on,so I’m typing fast and uploading everything I can in the hopes that I can get this posted before I run into another problem.
So, the two winners of my Blog Candy are……..(drumroll please)……..Tanya Morose (comment 290) and Kathy Murray (comment 591)! Congratulations! I used www.random.org to determine the winners.
On to my cards. As you can see – I found my cardstock, and took the opportunity to make a couple of really quick cards. Although I was able to make a little time to stamp, I’m not yet back to my regular blogging and stamping schedule as we are still in the midst of unpacking and renovating, so stamping time is quite scarce.
For these cards I pulled out my new Autumn Vine DP – which I absolutely LOVE (but then what Stampin’ Up! product don’t I love – *lol*!). You can see close-ups of the cards below. This first card is a super simple card which uses the beauty of the DP as it’s focal point. It’s the perfect card to uses up the hoards of DP you’ve been stashing away (if you’re anything like me – I love DP).

Stamps: Holidays and Wishes
Paper: Autumn Vine DP, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Neutrals buttons, wide (5/8") Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon.
I designed this second card to complement the colors in the Autumn Vine DP, even though it doesn’t actually use any of the DP.

Stamps: Season of Friendship
Paper: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Whisper White CS
Ink: More Mustard, Really Rust, Sage Shadow Classic ink
Accessories: Neutrals buttons
This last card also uses the Autumn Vine DP and a simple greeting as it’s focal point.

Stamps: Harvest Home
Paper: Autumn Vine DP, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Whisper White CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Really Rust
Accessories: Neutrals buttons, ticket corner punch, blender pen, wide Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon

Really wish I could someday meet you. I loved visiting Canada many years ago with my children and hope to come back again with just hubby and I. I live in upstate NY and am a hobby demo with SU. You make some of the best cards I have ever seen. Thank you for all the time you spend putting up this blog. evette
