Petal Cone Valentine’s Treat Box and Information about Paper Crafter’s Library
Posted on: Thursday, January 13th, 2011Today I wanted to share with you a fun Valentine’s Treat box I created using Stampin’ Up!’s new Petal Cone die which also features a de-bossing technique.
I also wanted to share with you some information about my new site www.papercrafterslibrary.com and how it’s going to impact this site and my current planners & tutorials - as I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this.
First off my Sunny Stampin’ Blog is not going to change. We are still aiming to post projects 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), and the projects will continue to be Stampin’ Up! only. Each project will have the supply list posted at the bottom of the page and some very simple directions on how the project was made.
Paper Crafter’s Library (PCL) is going to build on AND add more to what we offer here. Many of the projects we feature here on this site will have video tutorials on Paper Crafter’s Library. These videos will be in one of two forms: either it will show how the project was made from start to finish OR it will feature several videos on the main techiques used in the project. Paper Crafter’s Library will also have the pdf handout for all completed projects available for download.
Today’s post is a good example of what you will see on this blog. Below you can see a picture of the project I made to share with you all. See the logo in the bottom right corner? That tells you that there is a video for this project in Paper Crafter’s Library being made available to members. In the blog post I’ll tell you what the video is and whether there is a handout to go with it.
So for the project you see above, there is a complete video showing you how this project was made along with a pdf handout. Want to see a sample of what Paper Crafter’s Library members get? You can watch this video, download the pdf and get an inside look into the Member’s Area of the site HERE.
As a regular reader of my blog, you also have the option to subscribe to my FREE Sunny Stampin’ Project Ideas Newsletter (in the top right hand side bar). This is a twice-monthly newsletter released at the middle of the month and the end of the month. Each newsletter will have an exclusive project idea along with a pdf handout and video. The projects in my Sunny Stampin’ Project Ideas Newsletter will not be featured here.
Does PCL offer more than what you see here? Absolutely! TONS more. We currently have just over 250 videos in the library, with more being released every day. These videos show you how to use specific products, teach you techniques and offer complete project ideas as well.
Is this site a “clearing house” for You Tube videos? No. These vidoes are OUR original videos, filmed exclusively for Paper Crafter’s library.
How are the videos different than what you get on You Tube for free? For one thing, you will find much more in-depth videos. You Tube has a 10 minute time limit for videos, and there is only so much you can squeeze into 10 minutes. We have NO LIMITS – that means that not only can we take our time showing you how to do something step-by-step, we also have plenty of time to share with you all the little “tips and techniques” that we have learned over the last combined 35 years. Each video is jam-packed with information.
Where can you go right now to learn coloring and watercoloring techniques? We’ve already talked about the lack of depth & short length of videos you get through You Tube. Right now your only other options are either classes offered at a scrapbook store (if you can find them) or online courses that range from $20 – $50 - and that’s only for ONE course. How many courses do you need to become really good?
You’ve seen the kind of coloring Soph can do – she’s absolutely amazing at it! She is going to share that knowledge and expertise on PCL with our members. There are already several hours worth of coloring/watercoloring videos on the Paper Crafter’s Library site – and that’s just a beginning. I can tell you right now – you will NOT find free videos like hers!
There’s also the added benefit that it is and will be all in one place – that’s HUGE in terms of time savings!!! How much time do you spend (i.e. waste) on the internet just looking for the information you need? Never mind the time it takes to practice. I can tell you, even now, when I am trying to learn a new technique or figure out how to do a project, it can take hours to sift through the pages of search results before I finally find a decent video. We take all the work out of it for you because we do the leg work.
Besides WHAT you get, the experience is different. You can be guaranteed that each and every video is clear (no blurriness), but most importantly – you get a close up view of the action. You will feel as though YOU were the one making the project!
So hopefully that answers your questions!
