First off, if you haven’t already, be sure to stop by our Paper Crafter’s Library blog as Soph has an awesome Halloween-Themed decorated lunch bag which features a really cool paper tole technique.

As promised (although late from my original estimation), I wanted to announce a bunch of winners today.

First off, using www.random.org, I’ve selected 5 winners of the Letters From Santa Class Planner / Stamp Class by Email.  If you missed out on the release of this digital tutorial then please click HERE to read about it.  If your name was drawn, please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com and be sure to put “Letters From Santa” Blog Winner in the subject line.  Then, in the body of the email please state whether you would like the class planner version for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, or the regular Stamp Class by Email version.

So here are the winners……..

What a clever use of the Letters to Santa DSP! I like the changes you made to your class planner design. It will work great for me as I often need just 1 or 2 projects for an event and my customers want instructions. This will make it so easy for me! Writing good instructions is very time consuming. Now I can use the time you saved me to contact customers and stamp! Love it and would love to win the class planner!

Andrea, I haven’t done a lot of creating or selling in the last few years (except to myself) and I was casing different web sites for ideas but I have to say that you have the most beautiful and user friendly site out there. Thank you for posting.

I think this might be one of my ALL time favorite stampin up papers. I am making some crafts with it already, but i LOVE what you have done here! Thanks for sharing your ideas as always!

Calendar and Note Pad Tin Kit Winners

Same drill for the winners of the Calendar and Note Pad Tin Kit.  Please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com and be sure to put “Calendar and Note Pad Tin Kit Winner” in the subject line.  In the body of your email please be sure to send me your complete mailing address, along with phone number.  If your name was not drawn, we are still carrying these kits, as well as the calendars, note pads and tins in the Sunny Stampin’ Store.  Since the demand was so great and last year we had emails asking us for them all the way into December, we decided to order a few extra and keep them on hand “just in case”.

Oh WOW Andrea you have done it again. You work so hard and I always appreciate all the hard work that goes into your projects. I especially like the projects that help keep me organized, as well as giving gifts to friends to help them stay on top of things too. Thank You.

This Week’s Techniques For Club 52 – Striated Background Technique

Hi everyone!  Before I dive into today’s post I wanted to let you all know that I haven’t forgotten about the winners I was supposed to announce for the Letters From Santa give-away. I also have a couple of winners to announce for the Calendar and Note Pad Tin Kit.  I PROMISE I will announce those tomorrow. I’ve had a brutal week this week and just haven’t had the time.  So please stay tuned tomorrow for that announcement.

I also wanted to mention, that although we haven’t been posting a lot here on this blog, if you are looking for a daily dose of inspiration and some project ideas, you can visit our blog at www.papercrafterslibrary.com, because we do post projects just about every day.  Now, today’s post here, and today’s post there are the same, but we do have a Halloween and Harvest project we posted yesterday and the day before.

So, today I wanted to share with you all the techniques we are doing this week for Club 52 (which you can read about here) and Paper Crafter’s Library members. This week I’m finishing off our four weeks with Direct To Paper techniques (DTP) featuring dye-based inks, and then for the next number of weeks we are going to be exploring a bunch of awesome techniques using dye ink refills.

This week’s technique is one that I call the Striated Background Technique.  Although you can use pretty much any brand of ink pad (as with the other DTP techniques we’ve explred so far) I did find that for this particular technique, my favorite was Stampin’ Up!’s ink pads, simply because of their size. They are the largest ink pads on the market and provided me with more surface area to work with.

So here is a snapshot of this week’s techniques:

I have a close up picture of both tags I created using the Basic Striated Technique:

And then here is a close up of the tags I created using the Surf and Sand Striated Background Technique:

As part of the videos for this week I also included a free bonus greeting download of the Fun in the Sun Greetings which I created, and in a video I show you how to create the sun embellishment.

I have to say, I am having so much fun creating for Club 52.  I’ve always loved techniques, but I find that these days, I’m becoming a real technique junkie!

Today I wanted to share a card I created today that I think is probably one of my favorites of all the cards I’ve ever made. The funny thing is, when I started I had no intention of creating a valentine-type card, especially considering we’re gearing up for Christmas.

The striped background in the card above is all one layer created with a Direct To Paper (DTP) technique I call the Pulled Background technique.  In Club 52 (our year long online technique club) we’ve been looking at Direct To Paper Techiques using dye-based inks for the last three weeks.  This week, I created three variations of the Pulled Background Technique, which if you’re interested in seeing, I have posted on the Paper Crafter’s Library blog. This card is a step-stepped up verison.  It uses four different colors of ink: Pink Pirouette Classic ink, Pretty in Pink Classic ink, Melon Mambo Classic ink and Rose Red Classic ink.

If you’re a technique-lover, you’re welcome to join the club at anytime.  There’s more info about it HERE.  You can also get an over-all snapshot of what we’ve done so far HERE.

What I’ve been working on lately

Although it’s been kind of quiet on this blog lately, I’ve actually been doing quite a bit of creating “behind the scenes”.  One of my latest endeavours is Club 52 – a year long technique club that I created for Paper Crafter’s Library members as a free benefit of their membership.  I have also launched this as a year-long online class, for non-members, which anyone can sign up for.  You can read a lot more about it from THIS page here.

We’re currently into the second week of the club, and I’ll be releasing the Week 3 technique on Wednesday.  Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve done so far:

Week 1, I introduced a technique I call the Swiped Background Technique – and there are 3 different variations of it – a one color, two color and three color variation.  You can see a sample below:

For Week 2, I introduced a technique I call the Blended Background technique – and there are two variations – a Pressed and Blended Background technique and a Dragged and Blended technique.  You can see a sample below:

I’m pretty excited about this class because I love techniques, and I love coming up with new ones.

A couple of other things:

Calendar & Note Pads & Red Liner Tape (aka, Sticky Strip)

If you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter into our draw for the 2012 Calendar and Note Pad tins – I’m going to announce the winners tomorrow. and if you’re interested, don’t forget to order your bundles.  All the information is in this post.

I already placed my Calendar and Note Pad order with the printer, but I did order a few extra, so if you missed out, they are still available on a first come first serve basis.  Once they are gone, they’ll be gone until 2013.

Sticky Strip is starting to ship out tomorrow afternoon. If you haven’t ordered yours and would like some, please do so before Wednesday, because as of Wednesday noon EST, the price is going up (our manufacturer notified us that our cost is going up). For more information click HERE.

Letters From Santa Class & A Blog Give-Away

With all the excitement of Back to School winding down, it seems as though for many of us our thoughts are turning towards Christmas.  For this month we’ve created a Christmas Class featuring the Letters From Santa patterned paper and the Merry and Type stamp set from Stampin’ Up!. As part of this class you’ll learn how to create these four cards and a coordinating card basket.

As I do each month, I am offering two versions – a Stamp Class by Email version which is a step-by-step photo tutorial with over 80 full color photos, full supply list, a cutting guide and template for the box.

The Class Planner version for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators includes the Stamp Class by Email tutorial (called the Class to Go Handout) as well as all the additional materials you need to offer it as a class to your own customers. New this month – we’ve changed the format of the customer handout. We’ve created a separate pdf handout for EACH of the projects – that way you can pick and choose which ones you want to offer as part of a class, or maybe as a Make and Take for a workshop or open house.

Don’t have the time or space to offer traditional classes? Why not offer it as a kit to go?  OR, did you know that you can use the Class to Go Handout as a purchasing incentive to your customers?  When they place a $50 or more order of Stampin’ Up! product from YOU, you can give them this fabulous tutorial for free?  But wait….there’s more….

As part of either the Stamp Class by Email AND the Class Planner you receive access to a private web page – and this month we have a video showing you how to make the card shawl.   When you order the Class Planner version, you also receive the video embed code so that you can embed the video on your own blog and offer it as a bonus to your customers which took the class or received the tutorial as a gift with purchase?

There are so many different ways that demonstrators use my planners, yet regardless of which way they choose to use it, the one thing I hear over and over again is what a benefit they have been to their business.  Are you interested in adding more to your business?  You can purchase the class planner HERE.

If you are not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, but you’d like to learn how to make these projects then you can purchase the Stamp Class by Email version HERE.

*Please note, we are now offering the videos from this class to Paper Crafter’s Library subscribers as well as a written pdf on how to make the card basket. All other handouts – including the step-by-step photo tutorial, and features are remaining exclusive to the class planner/stamp class by email and will NOT be placed in Paper Crafter’s Library*

And now for a give-away! On Tuesday, September 20th, Friday, September 23rd,  5 lucky winners will receive the Letters From Santa class (supplies not included). All you have to do to enter is leave a comment in the comments section of this post.  If you’ve never left a comment before all you have to do is to click on the title of the post, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your comment in the comment box. Sometimes comments may take a little while to appear.
