“Love You” Card featuring the Love Letters Designer Paper
Posted on: Friday, August 20th, 2010Happy Friday everyone! I’m so happy the weekend is here because that means I get to spend more time with my hubby and kids. My husband is taking the boys out to the driving range tonight, and then tomorrow we’ll probably go for a family bike ride at some point.
Today’s card is a scrappy type of a card that is made with a variety of different elements.
Here’s how I made the card:
- Take a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla CS and fold it in half using a bone folder.
- Stamp the Sanded background onto a 5″ x 5″ piece of Riding Hood Red CS using Riding Hood Red Classic ink.
- Cut a 6″ diameter circle from a piece of Love Letter DP using the Circle Scissors Plus and a Glass Mat.
- Stick the 6″ diameter circle onto the Riding Hood Red CS, towards the bottom right, using SNAIL adheisve. The circle will extend over the Riding Hood Red CS. Turn the Riding Hood Red CS over and trim off any of the circle that is overhanging.
- Center and stick the Riding Hood Red CS to the card using SNAIL adhesive.
- Stamp the trio heart image and two other heart images from the I Heart Hearts stamp set onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla CS using Riding Hood Red Classic ink.
- Punch out the trio image using the Heart to Heart punch. Cut out the other two heart images, using paper snips, leaving a slight vanilla border around the images. Set aside.
- Stamp the greeting onto a 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Very Vanilla CS using Early Espresso Classic ink.
- Sponge around the edges of the 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White CS using the Tea Stain ink from the Distressing Essentials kit and a wedge of a Stampin’ Sponge.
- Ink up the L, O, V and E chipboard letters using Riding Hood Red Craft ink. Sprinkle Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the letters and tap off any excess. Heat the letters with a Heat Tool until the embossing powder has melted.
- Stick the chipboard letters to the card using Tombow multipurpose liquid glue.
- Stick the stamped and cut out hearts to the card using SNAIL adhesive for two hearts and Stampin’ Dimensionals for the other three hearts.
- Stick the greeting to the card using SNAIL adhesive.
- Stick self adhesive rhinestones to the card, as shown. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.
