Holiday Blitz Day 18: Christmas Ornament by Sophia…& another winner

Posted on: Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Before we move on to today’s Holiday Blitz project which was created by my sister Sophia,  I just had to share a story with you.  My 5 year old daughter is in Senior Kindergarten and goes to school 3 full days a week – Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.  On her off days, to the extent possible, I typically try to arrange play dates.  By far my favourite play date is when her friend Kara comes over because I NEVER hear “I’m bored”, or “what’s for lunch? (at 9:30 am in the morning)”  They always find something to do and they rarely every get into any arguments.  Well today was no exception.  After we arrived home they disappeared downstairs to play and I never heard a peep from them.  At around 11:30 am I went downstairs to let the girls know that I would be starting on lunch.   I found them in my stamping studio.  Can you even begin to guess?  My table was covered with paper scraps.  They had helped themselves to my punches, my 2-way glue, my glitter (they spilled about 1/2 a container’s worth all over the tables and floor) and the icing on the cake: THEY WERE USING MY BIG SHOT! Yes, you read that correctly. She was busy using the Birds with Leaves & Flowers die that I used on my Top Note Tags & Box yesterday. Now I should tell you, although my daughter has watched me use the Big Shot, I have never showed her how to use it.  She figured it out all on her own!  Although I was mad at the time, now I can’t help but laugh.  It just goes to show you how easy the Big Shot is to use – if a 5 year old can figure it out, anyone can figure it out! *lol*

On to Soph’s project:

Today, my new sizzlits set Birds and Blooms arrived, and I was just itching to have the opportunity to try it out.  I decided to do an ornament with a country feel to it.  The neat thing about this type of ornament is that you can decorate the one side, or you could put it in a small clamp and decorate both sides in the same manner.  Then, when you put it on the tree in a spot where it can spin, both sides will show up lovely and sparkling.

step 1:  Following Andrea’s previous tutorial here  cover a piece of cardboard ( I used the one that comes in the DP packs) with Brushed Gold CS on both sides.  I cut my pieces 4″ x 4″ .  I used Mono Adhesive to glue it on.  I then placed it over the Scallop Circle #2 die ( the larger circle) and cut it out.  Make sure your adhesive is dry before cutting.step 2:  I then pulled out my Birds and Blooms die set.  I only used the birds, and the die which has the 2 flowers and the 2 leaves.  I cut 2 birds from Vanilla CS and four sets of flowers: two from the Riding Hood Red CS and two from the Ruby Red CS.  I cut one set of leaves out of Kiwi Kiss CS and one set out of Olive CS.  I sponged the red pieces with Chocolate Chip ink,  the green pieces with Garden Green Ink and the doves with Caramel ink.

step 3:  I used my chalk to create a blush on the cheeks of the birds and dotted them with my gel pen.  Next I adhered the wings using Crystal Effects.  I traced the tails and wings with crystal effects and then glittered them up.  The birds were then popped up on the gold scallop circle.

step 4:  I took the flowers and pressed in the centers with my embossing stylus.  This was  to force the petals upwards and give them more dimension.  Next I used Crystal Effects to glue each small flower into the larger flower.  Center’s were dotted with Crystal Effects and glittered.

Step 5:  Now you put the whole thing together using crystal effects and dimesionals.  Crystal effects was dotted over remaining scallop circle and glittered to mimic snowflakes, ribbon was tied into a bow and then added on with Glue Dots.  Small crystal was placed on string to add and extra shine.

I hope you enjoy this ornament as much as I do.
Sophie

Okay, and now onto today’s winner.  Drumroll please……the winner of the Holiday Blitz Day 17 blog give-away is Shilo Garland! Congratulations! In order to draw my winners I use the website www.random.org so that the winner is randomly drawn.  Shilo, please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com in order to claim your prize!

Shilo will receive the pdf tutorial for this ornament-shaped gift box.  As with all the templates I feature, this project is based on a custom-designed template I created to simulate the look of a Christmas Tree Ornament.  The dimensions of the box are 6″ wide, 5″ high and 2″ deep.  It holds a LOT of treats!  The tutorial will include a supply list, dimensions, template and over 30 photos with step-by-step directions.

I’ll be drawing for another one of these tutorials, so if you would like to be entered into the draw please leave comment with the answer to today’s question in the comments section of this post:

Today’s question: Do you start your Christmas shopping early or do you typically wait until the last minute?

I like to start and finish early. In fact, all my gifts are wrapped and under the tree now!

2

Wow! This is just beautiful! In fact I love all the creations on this blog. I have been a fan for quite a while, I just don’t leave comments very often. I wanted to let you know that I have tagged you and you can visit my website for more details. Have a wonderful day!!

3

Okay, i peeked at the project before reading your post and I thought you were going to say you daughter created “your sister’s” beautiful project…i was going to be very impressed! :)
I usually try to shop for some early and then some later on, but this year i have yet to shop! I’ve got one gift for my parents and that’s it! Hope to get started Thursday!
Happy shopping to all~

4

I like to find unique things for each person I shop for. So throughout the year, when I find something, I buy it and store it away. Then I try to have all my shopping done shortly after Thanksgiving.
This year is different from all others – I haven’t bought many presents, still have a few to make, and nothing is wrapped.
It will all get done in time – but I feel a little frenzied between work and other responsibilities in my life.
Each day it’s a real treat for me to log on and see what project/idea you’ve come up with. It’s the one thing I really look forward to :o )
So “thanks” for all the great ideas and inspiration.

5

I always START my Christmas shopping early and then FINISH at the last minute. Just like my workshop prep! :)

6

I am in the fairly early camp. All the shopping is done though still waiting for several things to arrive. Handmade things tend to be last minute however. I always have more ideas than time!

7

Hi Andrea & Sophia!
Very cute ornament – TFS!
We have to do our shopping early because our families are in northern QC, NB/PEI, and northwestern ON. We sent the QC box last weekend and will be sending the other 2 this weekend. I usually shop for my husband last.

8

I start early, but I tend to leave the difficult-to-shop-for people till last! Cute ornament!

9

I start early and love to shop from other moms as well as boutiques but anything that would take a trip to the mall ends up happening the week before Christmas.

10

I don’t wish to be in the drawing since I already won! I just had to comment…my 5-year-old son loves to stamp with me, too. Luckily, he’s kept to his “own” paper (my non SU stuff) and stays away from the cutters, but he does know how to use the Scor-Pal! And Sophia, what a BEAUTIFUL ornament! It’s breathtaking!

11

I watch for items over the year here and there, but most of my shopping gets done starting in November, sorry to say.

Sharon L

12

Pretty Ornament! I love the Brushed Gold.

I start Christmas shopping early. I try to get most of my shopping done as soon as Thanksgiving is over. (I do shop throughout the year too, so that December is enjoyable and I can relax too)

13

I start my shopping early. It stretches the finances gradually that way and doesn’t exhaust me right at Christmas time. It sounds like your daughter may follow in your foot steps with creativity. : )

14

I always try to have my shopping complete by Thanksgiving :) This year I made it by that date.

15

OH OH.. I better really hide my Big Shot before my 5 yr old gets any ideas! lol.. and now about my Christmas shopping.. hmm how about I haven’t even started! lol.. ok I lie I have 2 gifts for my DD but thats only cause I had to do one of those emergency runs when they loose their fav. toys that they will not be happy w/out and it happened to be on Black Friday I KNOW what a day to lose the FAV. toy!! But in a way she lucked out because she got a replacement toy and also 2 other Backyardian toys that I saved for Christmas! lol :) Hmm I better get a move on it.. Tomorrow will make only 15 days till.. OPPS.. do I always do that? hmm yeah! lol

16

Andrea- you have the best blog! I was just showing my husband your creations and he was like WOW and then I added you have 5 kids and he had a blank stare on his face. Thank you for always sharing your beautiful creations!!

17

Oh yeah shopping – please only enter me once! I am usually done shopping by the first week of December since we celebrate both Hanukkah & Christmas in our house! But this year I am delayed not sure why, maybe I am stamping too much instead of shopping!!! Thanks again for sharing! Merry Christmas! Julie

18

That’s hilarious! My head would explode, I think! Too funny.
I’m a total last minute shopper but I plan my handmade gifts fairly well in advance so it makes up for it.

19

Sigh… every year I tell myself to be more organized and get my shopping done early. And every year I end up doing last minute shopping on Christmas Eve. :)

20

I am usually an early shopper, but this year I am so busy with other things that I haven’t had time to shop! So it looks like this year will be last minute!

21

Typically I shop early. I do not like to battle crowds during the Christmas Season. I am always keeping my eyes open for the perfect gift the whole year long for people on my Christmas List.

22

I would love to start early, but no one ever has their lists ready until after Thanksgiving here, so I’m typically shopping one to two weeks before Christmas. Drives me crazy, but I can’t get the rest of the family to get it together earlier than that!

23

I am always waiting until the last minute because I never know what to buy. Mary

24

I do start my holiday shopping early but there is always some I leave until the last it seems. I have to admit though that I do love shopping this time of year with the fabulous holiday music playing and the beautiful way the stores are decorated it all really puts me in the holiday spirit.

25

Gresat ornament and doesn’t look too hard!

I’m on top of my shopping and then at the last minute I think I didn’t get enough and panic and go shopping and can’t find anything. This year is different. I decided to only get the grandkids 2 presents each and that’s it!

26

Thanks for another great inspiration….

Shopping, I start early, but finish the last minute….

27

Wow this project is beautiful. Great tutorial. I try to start e arly, but before you know it….IT’S here and you have to rush to the loast minute. Every year I say that I will get better next year. Thanks for a chance.

28

I usually start my shopping early. In fact I shop all year long. When I see something that would be a perfect gift for one of the many people I give gifts to I pick it up and store it in the same place in my house. By Christmas I usually don’t have much left to buy.

Robbie

29

I start right after Christmas for the next year. I’ve done it for the past few years and always find great deals for all my friends and family!

30

The plan was to start earlier this year…huge sigh..hopefully I will get a good dent started on my list and get some projects completed..I always think that I have tons of time and end up scrambling……oh well…off to start the to do list! Have a great evening.
Cheers, Sheri

31

Wow, another cute Big Shot idea. If I didn’t leave all my Christmas shopping till the last minute, I might have time to try to make one.

32

In answer to your question, I start shopping early, maybe August, but I always finish late. Usually the week of Christmas I’m still running around looking for some last minute treasure.

33

What a beautiful use for this set. I usually start with the day after Christmas to start my holiday shopping and that includes birthdays. Then I am not as stressed when Christmas arrives except when I can’t remember where I put the gifts!! LOL

34

What a lovely ornament!
I did start my shopping early this year (first time in about 4 years). I started about October and used alot of “free shipping” options. I have just a few more to go and that will probably be done by this weekend.
Thanks for asking and thank you again for the fabulous ideas!

35

Oh no..should I be Christmas shopping already?!! LOL. :)

36

Wow, what a great example to give to your customers that a 5 year old can use the Big Shot! :) Hope everything was okay after your discovery. Wouldn’t you have liked to be a fly on the wall?

I purchase Christmas gifts all year round for our immediate family. Now for extended family we draw names so I have to wait & at this point in time am still waiting!!! ARGH!

Thank you to both of you gals for sharing such wonderful projects!

Stampin’ Smiles from Ear to Ear,
Ann :)

37

I usually do my Christmas shopping early. As soon as the person’s b-day passes, I start looking for thier Christmas present.

Thanks for always sharing such great projects on your blog.

38

I love the ornament!!! My dd & ds are always in my craft room BUT they know not to touch a thing unless I am there with them. They do make cards with me too.
I always start early shopping. Then the last month before christmas is when I usually finish making the gifts either paper craft or sew. Less stress for me when there is no pressure close to the date.

39

I do all my shopping online now, and have for the last 5 years. Try not to hit any stores fron Nov 1st -Jan 31st. Unless it’s the day after Thanksgiving and then I just hit the sales to get things I need that are on sale. I’m usually done by my birthday on Dec 5th.

Stampin in the SON! jenni

40

I used to have all my shopping done by Oct. 1, wrapped and ready to go under the tree by Nov. 1. Now, I do well to have it all done by Christmas Eve. So goes life! Thanks for the fun and games!
debra~

41

I normally like to start early like in June. I have less stress if I get that out of the way. This year however, I didn’t have a job, so money kept me from doing alot. I am almost done now and most everything is wrapped.

42

I get most of it done before December but like to buy little ‘extras’ and tend to do this closer to Xmas for some reason.

43

I always mean to get a good jump on my shopping by doing it throughout the year, but realistically … It always ends as this year has … waiting until the last week or so to finish up.
Lovely ornament, Sophia!!

44

I hate to say this but Christmas shopping depends on the money situtation. If we have the extra money we get the presents that week if we don’t have the extra money we don’t get the presents that week.

45

Both -I start early and finish at the last minute.

46

Thank you Andrea and Sophia for a chacne to win such an amazing prize.

I try to do my shopping ahead of time. But there is always those last minute gifts that you remember two days before you need it. My mom on the other hand, starts christmas shoppping the day after christmas!

Charna

47

I’m a last minute gift shopper! although I usually have a few smaller gifts that I begin making in October (things for my sister and Mom, MIL, etc.)

48

What no pictures of your daughter’s creations? :-D

49

I start Christmas shopping early. It’s not unusual for me to find that “perfect gift” for someone in January! The secret to this, is always store everything in the same spot and keep a list of what was bought for whom in your wallet!

50

So Cute! My 4 year old little boy loves to stamp with me :) I let him use my retired sets – but he keeps trying for my stampin write markers and good ink pads ever time :)
Great job on your tutorials! I love everything here!

51

Normally I start my Christmas shopping early, but this year is anything but normal as my husband was laid off from his job in November, so all gifts are being made. Thank goodness for all my stamping supplies. That is why I would love the bulb tutorial. Great little project. Thank you so much.
Cheryl Sims

52

I never start soon enough. I wish I had a money tree, then there would be no problems. I still have quite a few gifts and my next payday in the 19th!!! Yikes!
Usually, I try to get it done the beginning of Dec.

53

I shop as I get ideas for people. I try very hard to find things that I can make so I start early with those kinds of things. And I usually have some folks finished early but there are some that are always last minute! Thanks for the chance to win!

54

I am the kind of person who sees something in July for that “someone special” and then buys it. My only problem is that I don’t keep track of what I’e bought. So I sometimes end up having too much for one person and not enough for another person. That means at the last minute I am out with the rest of the world trying to find the “perfect present.”

55

I usually Christmas shop all year long. If I find something that is perfect for someone I pick it up even if it is only March. Sometimes I can’t find it in December or I totally forget that I have it but they get the gift sooner of later. :)

I just wish my daughter would show intrest in stamping. LOL.

Love the project again.

I use to have my Christmas shopping done by end of Sept first of Oct. But the last couple of years it has been up to the last minute. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

57

Every year I say I will be done before Christmas and do start early… but then things get in the way…craft shows, picking names at church for charity, (of course those get taken care of!) th;en, next thing I know its 2 wks before Christmas and nope…not even close! But the adrenaline will surely kick it up few notches and it will get done!

58

Oh, I love your story!!!It was a great laugh to the start of my day.
I usually start early, I listen to what family members talk about during the year and quickly write them down (as I might forget!) and then I like to have the gift more personal for each person, as I see alot of people have stated. I dislike shopping after Thanksgiving as the stores are just too hectic!
Sophie…this is a beautiful ornament!

59

Beautiful Project! I must me and the hubby start early, around september time but we really get in the groove about November and are done within the first week of December.

60

I’d love to say that I shop early, but time seems to fly by and it’s December. I do have a list made early though–so I could shop and get it all done early,if I just set my mind to it. Oh well–it does get done all the same.

61

WOW! Fabulous!

I make all my gifts myself so I start early!

62

I like to plan ahead and buy early, but my husband never wants to go until the 24th! Drives me nuts! I get little things throughout the year to use as last minute gifts, but otherwise the day after Thanksgiving is my biggest day to buy things.

63

I love all the projects. I just wish I had more time to make them! I try to do a little shopping early. I even pick up a few things during the year if something strikes me. I hate the pressure at the end! Happy Holidays!

64

If I find something through out the year that I know would be a great gift for someone I just purchase it and stash it away. When it’s time to get serious about my Christmas shopping I pull all my stashed items out and go from there. I usually have my shopping done by the middle of December, unless there’s a real bargin I can’t resist.

The tutorials from you and your sister are amazing…I looked forward to seeing what the next days will be.

65

My shopping has no plan! I try to make a list and get it all done in one day – hahahaha!

66

Usually my holiday shopping starts Right after back to school shopping, But this year i decided i would try my hand at making more gifts and buying less I have a feeling im going to be doing alot of shoppping in the next few weeks. Although i did finish alot more then i originally thought i would.

67

Early, early, early! I actually started getting gifts for my kids together in May! I usually try to take a certain amount of money each month and put it toward Christmas, either buying a gift, or setting the money aside, so that when I do find that perfect thing I have the cash for it!

68

I like to start early, but then always seem to be finishing at the very end…maybe one day I’ll actually be able to get it done early!

69

Oh how I wish I could say I start early but it’s usually a mad rush to get it all done. I’m being inspired by those who posted that they start early and will shoot for that next year:-)

I am bird phobic (have no idea why) but I will admit that the ornament is beautiful. Thank you to you and your sister for taking the time out of your busy schedules to share your beautiful creations.

71

I start as early as possible! I’m usually all done by the 2nd week in December.

72

We usually get some ideas from our daughter for our grandchildren and then I hit the internet for best buys at local stores. This year we went on Friday and got over half the gifts (less than an hour)and then I came home and rechecked the internet for the remaining items we couldn’t find. Next day we got the three remaining items at one store and came home (again less than one hour). Now I have from now until the 21st to wrap them all, do baking, and mail cards. Whew, think I will take a nap…

73

I try to start early and get most of it done. My husband is normally the last one I shop for because I have to remember what he has put hints out for through the year. He never gives me a list.

Sherry Conrad

74

I wait until the last minute. I am always afraid that something better will present itself.
Andrea, you have the most beautiful projects! Thank you so much for sharing!
Carolee

75

I have good intentions of starting early and may pick up one ot two but it nevers ends that way. I am going shopping on the 15th this year. Hopefully I will get it all done but if not I may be out on Christmas eve!

76

I do a little of both. If I see something that looks like the person I tend to buy for, then I grab it.
Carla

77

Every year it creeps up earlier and earlier. I have lots left to do…good news is that I have atleast started my shopping!!

78

What a breath-takingly beautiful ornament!!!

I buy things all year for Christmas, but I always end up with lots of last-minute shopping to do. Every year, I vow I will do a better job next year :)

79

Great Project!

Normally I start my shopping around the 20th of Decemeber, but this year I am almost done. The earliest I ever bought a Christmas present was this year, and I got it in August for a killer deal!

Debi

80

I shop throughout the year for Christmas and birthday gifts which takes off a lot of pressure at the end. Thanks for this opportunity to win
Eileen

81

I’d love to see what your daughter and her friend made. Sounds like you need to do a project with them and make sure they understand projects have to be done with you! I spread my shopping out, but always end up looking for things at the last minute!

82

I have started early the last couple of years. This year I think I am doing the best I’ve ever done. It seems like if I wait till the last minute I just get “buying happy” and get everything and don’t worry about the cost of anything. I (like most) can’t afford to do that this year:) Cute ornament, btw!

83

Andrea,

You have a future demonstrator there! Thanks for sharing this great story with us.
She may have some great ideas, you may want to take a close look at her projects. :)

84

I usualy start early-I got a few things last year at the boxing day sales. I don’t buy typical gifts so my family often get “surprises”. This year I will be giving monogramed towels to my two married sons as both their names begin with J and their wife’s names both begin with A. I got 2 sets of towels last Dec. -one a J set and one an A set and split them. This way I only need to buy stocking things in December and for my 8 year old. I also make many goodies to give away so baking must wait until December.

85

I love the ornament!! It’s too cute.

As for Christmas shopping, I try to be done by December 1st… minus a few stocking stuffers, if we are doing that. Being both hubby and I are disabled, the rush of Christmas shopping tends to stress us out, and we end up spending money on things we really didn’t need, that we can’t afford.

86

I try to get my shopping done early but I rarely finish prior to the week of Christmas. This year though…except for the hand-made gifts that I’m still working on for teachers, Sunday School teachers, bus drivers, etc. I’m finished with all the items that I needed to purchase. I’ve even got them wrapped early too!

87

I do start early but always find myself still in the stores the days before Christmas. I can’t help myself! It gets me in the Christmas spirit.

Great tutorial today, thanks!

88

I usually start throughout the year, a little here and there when I find something on sale that i know I will want to give someone for Christmas, but I am also a huge last minute shopper! The problem is finding where I hide everything, I usually end up staying up very late on Christmas Eve hunting for more presents that i have hidden!

89

I always have the intent to start early, even buying a few things, unfortunately I always end up racing around last minute. I am loving the holiday blitz, Thanks for all the work you put in.

Michelle T

90

What a beautiful project Sophia. I love it.
I wait till the last minute because I like the hustle and bustle. Its fun. THough I dont get alot of choices but one thing for sure, I dont spend as much money if I wait till last minute. LOL

91

I like to start shopping early and my goal is to finish early as well but that doesn’t usually happen. This year we started shopping in early November and we’ve gotten quite a bit done but there’s usually a couple of people that I have a hard time deciding what to buy for that push me to the last minute.

92

Too cute about your daughter–my son is 4 and does the same thing with my craft things. I just love what he makes.

Christmas shopping: I do it early and last minute. I seem to always forget I wanted to get some thing, or I’m out and about and find some thing I want to give to someone, OR I, at times, forget someone and realize at the last minute and run out. It never fails every year!

93

I love this! Gorgeous! I typically start my shopping in September/October. I hate fighting the crowds!
Barb M.

94

What a beautiful ornament! Thank you for the tutorial.
I “start” my shopping in October, but always seem to wait until the last minute to finish! As usual, I still have projects to complete!!!

95

Andrea,

I’ve been loving your holiday postings. I check them every morning along with my email and SU demo site.

For today’s question, I don’t shop much anymore. I mostly shop to get the house ready for the holiday, including pointsettias and new linen. I also stock the fridge and the cupboards for company that stops by.

Happy Holidays, EdieB

96

Another adorable project, thanks Andrea and Sophie!
I start buying for next Christmas right after Christmas ends. I have a lot of extended family and it adds up if I were to buy everything in one shot or not be money savvy and hit the big sales and clearance sections. It just takes planning.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Elizabeth

97

I always start my shopping early. I try to shop all year long! The best time is the day after Christmas! Have a great day! kt

98

Another beautiful project! You two gals do such lovely work and share so generously. We are very lucky!

Re: Christmas shopping. I usually get a couple things early and thus think I am on top of things. Then it all goes to hell in a handbasket (lol) and I end up crazy, trying to complete everything in time. I do make a lot of stamped gifts now, and I spend some very long nights getting everything ready. But everyone seems to love the things I do, so I forget about how much work it was and how much sleep I lost!

99

I begin shopping after Halloween and usually continue to pick things up until Christmas Eve. I LOVE to shop!!!! I usually finish by Thanksgiving everything on my list and then pick up things not on my list until Christmas! I have a hard time stopping.
Natalie

100

I try to start early but I find I just keep on shopping because I love shopping during the Christmas season. So I have started shopping a little less early so I don’t overspend quite as much :)

101

I tend to start my present collecting early, but always think of last minute things I need, so don’t seem to be done until sometimes the day before.

102

I always try to start my shopping early but it never usually happens. This year I think I did start early. I do most of mine online since I don’t really like to deal with the crowds and parking and snow and cold.

Catherine

103

I try to start my shopping early but I usually have to end up running out for some last minute gifts.

104

i try to shop for stocking stuffers all year, but wait for the big gifts.

105

I used to begin right after Christmas, looking all year for the perfect gift. My married daughter and her hubby now only want gift cards. My DH and I buy when we like…and I always treat myself to one of Andrea’s projects. : )

106

i like to purchase gifts after Christmas if I find a good bargain, the problem is remembering where i put it so I make a list what I bought, and who it is for, then I stash the list in a drawer I get in everyday, so I see it everyday and cannot forget where the items are. I usually try to shop early but am always rushing at the end to find the perfect gift, I always have one person who is so difficult to buy for-as we all do.
I love all your wonderful ideas, beautiful projects and it is great that you share.

107

Love the Christmas ornament! I usually start my shopping in the summer, but get into it full blast on Black Friday. More people on my list are asking for gift cards or money so that cuts down on the shopping I have to do. Yeah! Thanks for a chance to win.

108

I’m too late to enter this drawing but I wanted to be sure to tell Sophia that I love this ornament. You did a beautiful job with it, Sophia!

I start making: sewing, stamping & baking…
in Nov..I really get in the mood, once Nov.11th is finished. I honor that day, with scrapbooking Remembrance Day photos, etc.. Then,Nov.12th, out comes the music, a few decorations..to set the mood & onward I go.
It’s never a *too early to start* shopping time with me. Thsi Xmas blog’s been so fantastic, even though it’s been allot of work. You’ve made so many happy stamping friends.

This year we(family) decided to wrap gifts under $15 and also a couple silly, or unwanted items we have on hand and bring them to my son’s house where we will get together on Christmas Eve, play games, win some of the wrapped gifts, have door prizes, etc. We will have lunchmeats, snacks, etc., and just have a good old fashioned Christmas gathering.
Blessings to everyone….
