Finally Friday!

Posted on: Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Hi everyone!  Welcome to our Finally Friday post. There’s no particular theme to today’s post, it’s simply about sharing whatever happened to inspire us throughout the week.  Today I actually have two simple cards to share with you.

The first card was inspired by the fact that I’ve finally pulled out my bike after a long winter of “hibernation”.  Last August, rather than going on a trip, my husband and I decided to invest in bicycles and two bike trailers.  We made quite the site biking around our neighbourhood I’ll tell ya! First in line was my husband pulling the youngest, then the three older kids on their own bikes in the middle, and finally there was little ‘ole me bringing up the rear, pulling the 3 year old in a trailer.  It was so funny seeing the way people would stop and gawk.  There was one older gentleman that jokingly said that we made quite the parade LOL.  We’re planning on heading out over the weekend so I’ll take some pictures for you so that you can see our little “parade” for yourself.

You can download a pdf handout on how this card was made HERE.

The second card was inspired by the Trigger Tuesday on the Moxie Fab World Blog.  You can see the post HERE.

It’s a clean and simple card (well actually both of them are) that’s fast and easy to make.  I have to tell you, I’ll be sad to see the Sweet Pea DP Stack disappear. This pattern in particular is one of my favourites.

You can download the pdf handout on how this card was made HERE.

Hope you enjoyed today’s projects!

LOL, that must be a funny site. Enjoy your ride this weekend & can’t wait to see the funny photos. Anything with Family outside is fun. Love the simple look of the cards. I always forget that the cards / projects are all hand made with love & that they don’t have to have everything on them. Sometimes simple is better. Love them & the one with the bike is great for you weekend. Have Fun!

Clean and simple is exactly my style, but I love the cards with lots of layers and embellishments, too. I love both of these cards.

Can’t wait to see the pictures! And I thought I had my hands full with three young boys!

Wow the bike card is really great. I’ve been working on simple cards which has been a challenge for me, but I’m think I’m finally getting the hang of it. I love the cute bike story also. I love biking with my son. He was bearly walking when I bought a child seat for the back of my bike. Now I have to try to keep up with him.

I can totally relate to that. My husband is usually towing our 2yr old in the trailer while our 5 and 7 yr olds ride between us. With the weather warming up it’s a great way to spend some family time together! Thanks for sharing some more CAS cards. I’m always on the lookout for those!

Hugs and Blessings

What a fun story, Andrea! I love to hear about families spending quality time together. I love the simplicity of the cards you’ve shared today. It’s always handy to have simple layouts on hand for the too-many last minuted cards I need to make! Thanks for sharing!

What a great family outing to look forward to going on together. I can remember taking my DD behind me on my bike when I was younger. Back then we called those contraptions that the kiddo’s sat in “Buggers”. Wow, a two for one Friday! I really like both of the cards, but the Bike one is my favorite. I had to have that stamp set as soon as I saw it, I just fell in love with it. It is so versatile. I really like what you have done with your card, simple but lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Love the layout for both cards. I always struggle with “quick” or “simple.” Hope the weather cooperates this weekend for your family adventure.

I am absolutely hooked on your blog! I love these simple cards. I have just been making cards for the last month or so and a friend got me hooked on Stampin Up…(much to my husband’s dismay!). I love the ‘hi’ card. You give such great ideas and techniques. I’m just wondering if those chipboard letters are something you make with a cricut, or do you buy them that way? Thanks for the great ideas and have a good time biking with your family! :0)
