Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch Birthday Card – Video Tutorial & pdf Handout
Posted: Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 | CommentsDo you know that I’ve owned both of Stampin’ Up!’s Triple Layer punches since the first day we could pre-order them, and I hadn’t used them until today? Isn’t that awful? I’ve come to the conclusion that I have a very serious case of the ”need it now” affliction….
….but only with art & craft supplies. I see a gorgeous pair of shoes, or a stunning outfit, I can turn the other cheek. But a new punch? stamp set? color medium? embellishment? I whip out my credit card faster than you can say “charge it”.
So, I’ve decided that I’m going on a mission. Every week, I’m going to pull out something I’ve owned for awhile and I’m going to create with it. AND, I’m going to refrain from shopping……well, maybe not the latter. THAT would be too much, too soon LOL. But moderation. That will be my new mantra…..moderation…..moderation……moderation……is it working? I guess we’ll see.
Today I thought I’d share with you all a video tutorial and pdf handout for a card I created Stampin’ Up!’s Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. I have to say, I really like this punch. I think the concept of being able to get three coordinating images out of one punch is totally cool!
Watch the video below:
Oh, and here’s a fun little picture I thought I’d share with you of my second youngest – Matthew. In the afternoons while the three oldest are at school and the youngest is napping, Matthew likes to come down to my office and play while we work. He’s been fighting a fever since last Wednesday night, and has been quite crabby, but he refuses to “officially” nap. He’s been refusing to nap since he was 3. If you put him down to nap he plays, or cries, or wanders out of his room. However, if you get him staying still long enough, at least a few times a week he’ll fall asleep.
Today was one of those days. He brought his Playmobile into the office to play with, lay down to “arrange” his guys and promptly fell asleep.
That’s all for now!

Easter Basket Card Featuring Stampin’ Up!’s Baskets & Blooms Bigz XL Die & A Give-Away…A Video…& Some Winners
Posted: Monday, April 18th, 2011 | CommentsI don’t know what it is, but I’ve been finding this school year just speeding by (i.e. from September on). Somehow this year I’ve really been feeling behind the eight-ball. I was talking to Soph this morning and couldn’t believe that Easter is THIS WEEKEND! I had such big plans and all sorts of cool projects to design and create planned out in my head, and now….it’s too late. I’m sure those of you that fall under the “really organized” category, are already ready LOL.
I guess, rather than saving my ideas for Easter next year, I may just re-think them a little and create them as spring projects.
Today’s card features Stampin’ Up!’s Baskets and Blooms Bigz XL die. This card is based on a fantastic card by Betsy Veldman – scroll down to the second card on that post and you’ll see it. I used primarily Stampin’ Up! supplies for mine, and decided to fancy up the eggs. I filmed a quick video for you all on how I created the eggs which you can see below (for Paper Crafter’s Library members I also included a video on how to do the rest of the card, including the dimensional basket – and that’s been posted on the private blog today).
Here are the supplies used:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (Stampin’ Up!)
Ink: Early Espresso (Stampin’ Up!)
Paper: So Saffron CS, Pretty in Pink CS, Baja Breeze CS, Nursery Suite DP, So Saffron DP (Stampin’ Up!); Spring Moss CS, White CS (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: flower punch from Itty Bitty Punch Pack, foam mat from Mat Pack, stylus, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Basic rhinestones, 1 ⅜” x ⅝” Oval punch, Ovals Originals die, Baskets and Blooms Bigz XL die, Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!); Heat It Craft Tool, Matte Accents, mini mister (Ranger); White and pink ric rac, ⅛” Scor-tape, hot glue gun, Fabri-tac Adhesive (other)
You can watch the video here:
Also, do you remember the Faux Marbled & Stained Glassine Card?
I filmed and uploaded a video on how to create the Faux Marbled and Stained Glassine Flowers and inserted the video into the original post. To watch the video click HERE.
To watch the video on how to create Faux Glassine, click HERE. I do have to warn you though that for some reason, about four minutes into the Faux Glassine video, the sound goes wonky for about a minute. I accidentally overwrote the original video file, so I haven’t yet had a chance to correct it and re-upload it.

Tidings of Joy Card featuring Candy Cane Specialty DP & the Word Play stamp set
Posted: Monday, December 6th, 2010 | CommentsToday’s card is a super simple Christmas card in my favorite non-traditional combination of Christmas colors (pink and red). It was inspired by THIS card by Maile Bells. I found her blog about 6 months ago and absolutely love her clean and simple style, her unique layouts and the fun little ways she embellishes her cards. Here’s how today’s card was made:
-
Take a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pink Pirouette CS and fold it in half with your bone folder to create a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card.
-
Take a 6″ piece of Real Red satin ribbon, cut a fish tail in one end, and then stick it to a 2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of ornament-patterned DP (from Stampin’ Up!’s Candy Cane Christmas DP collection). The fish tail end should be about 1/8″ up from the bottom. The other end of the ribbon should be tucked over the top edge of the DP and stuck to the back with SNAIL adhesive. set aside for a moment.
-
Die cut a circle out of Whisper White CS using the Circles #2 die and your Big Shot (the circle is approx 2″ in diameter).
-
Stamp the “Tidings of Comfort and Joy” greeting from Stampin’ Up!’s Word Play stamp set onto the Whisper White CS circle. Color in the ornament with Real Red and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write markers. Add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter using a 2-way glue pen.
-
Take a scrap of Real Red CS and punch out a 1 3/4″ circle. Slide the Real Red CS with the punched circle into the 2 3/8″ scalloped circle punch, and center the already punched circle in the window of the scalloped circle and then punch. You will have a scalloped frame.
-
Glitter up the scalloped frame with red glitter (use VersaMark and Heat and Stick powder to apply it).
-
Center and stick the scalloped circle frame over the greeting using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stick the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.

Emoticon and Internet Slang Candy Wrappers
Posted: Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 | CommentsWell a short time ago, I came across a cute Exclusive Quikutz die that featured ‘emoticons’. I instantly knew that I could easily come up with the same idea using some (try all) of my circle punches. I decided to create cute candy wrappers (from the new Sizzix Candy Wrapper die featured in the mini catalogue) and feature different emoticons on each one. I paired them with tags which featured internet slang, of which I had to research and discovered that there was an online dictionary for. It came as quite a shock to discover how much profanity was included. There was also a section which discussed key slang for parents to beware of. Some of the slang involved warning of the presence of parents, and overtures of an unfriendly nature. I have to say that while emoticons can be fun and useful, there is a lot of the bad with the good! So anyways, I of course chose some fun ones. I have not done a video because at the moment I have a bad cold, but hopefully by Friday I will stop sniffling and be able to showcase the Sick Emoticon in a video. I will also do another Emoticon card for Friday lol.
Supplies:
- Paper: Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Basic Black, Daffodil delight, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Whisper White
- Ink: Tangerine Tango, Bravo Burgundy, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Creamy Caramel (retired), Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point
- Punches: Two Step Owl punch (for the circles), 1 1/4″ circles, Heart to Heart punch, Slot punch (retired), Scallop Trim border punch, Scallop Oval punch, 1 3/4″ x 7/8″ oval punch, 1/8″ hole punch (non-SU)
- Other: Linen thread, 1/8″ Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon, white silk ribbon (non-SU), Big Shot, Various Small Alphabets, Candy Wrapper Bigz die, Background 1 Texturz Plates (diamond pattern for Happy), Stampin Dimensionals, Multi-purpose Adhesive, White gel pen, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
Directions:
You tube has some great video’s for putting together the Candy Wrapper box, so check it out for instructions. As for the Emoticons, they are simply layered and cut circles for the most part. Hopefully Friday I can put togethed the Sicky Emoticon video. It is probably the hardest, and not hard at that! It will be good for showing you the finer details which I have added.
Hugs,
Bunny From Behind Punch Project
Posted: Thursday, March 11th, 2010 | CommentsWith Spring just around the corner, I felt that I absolutely had to celebrate by creating something totally cute and non-wintery! What better way to celebrate then with a fluffy, chubby bunny. I just love looking at rabbits. I love that pear shaped body and those liquid eyes. He was so easy to make and I have to say that I am pleased as punch with him! I figure that I can use hime as a tag for my Daughter’s Easter basket. I will just have to make one more for my Son’ s basket as I don’t think he will be happy if she has one and not him. Anyway, this is a really fast and easy project, and I hope you like it as much as I do
