It’s not too late to sign up for our free 12 Weeks of Christmas event
Posted: Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 | CommentsThose of you that are new to my blog might not have heard of our 12 Weeks of Christmas event that we run for our email newsletter subscribers every year. Every week, for 12 weeks we release an exclusive tutorial for a different Christmas project. Each tutorial includes a downloadable pdf handout and a video tutorial.
This is our third year running it, and we started on September 25th – so we’re into our fifth week now. For the first four weeks we focused on cards, for the next four weeks (including the one that just passed), we’re focusing on gift ideas, and then the final four weeks is tags and packaging. Just to give you an idea of what we’ve been sharing so far, here’s a snapshot of the last 5 weeks of projects.
Week 1: Embossed Snowflake Card – this project featured dry and heat embossing.
Week 2: Merry Christmas Snowflake Card – in this project you learn how to put together a stunning card using die cut or punched elements
Week 3: Cracked Glass Christmas Card – this project featured the Cracked Glass heat embossing technique, and also showed you how to embed glass glitter into the cracked glass.
Week 4: Poinsettia Card – this project is a shaped card which includes tons of gorgeous detail.
Week 5: Christmas File Folder Mini Album – this cute little album is approximately 4 1/2″ x 7″ high and features four pockets, each with a tag insert.
So there you have it. That’s what we’ve done so far……and did I mention it’s FREE to sign up for our email newsletter? All you have to do is fill out the form on the right hand side bar of the blog (www.andreawalford.com OR www.papercrafterslibrary.com) and then make sure you check your email to confirm your subscription.
Here’s the catch – the video portion of the tutorials are available for a LIMITED TIME only – generally only ONE week until the next project is released. After that, the videos get moved into Paper Crafter’s Library and are only accessible to members) So if you sign up right now, today, you’ll only be able to access the Week 5 tutorial – which is the mini album (but you can still get the pdfs of the other projects). BUT, you’ll still get 7 more weeks of fantastic video tutorials.
When you sign up for our email newsletter, in addition to all the great free project ideas, you’re also going to be the first to hear about any new project kits or tutorials we are releasing in our Sunny Stampin’ Store, and you’ll also be first to receive any coupons or special offers.
So there you have it – if you’re looking for a weekly dose of Christmas inspiration, don’t miss out on our FREE 12 Weeks of Christmas event.
FREE Digital Tutorials of ALL our Sunny Stampin’ Store Project Kits?
Posted: Monday, October 24th, 2011 | CommentsThere’s a ton of reasons our Paper Crafter’s Library members rave about their memberships. Here’s what a few of them have to say:
Thank you for this opportunity to use the Club 52 as being a member of the Papercrafters Library. This is the best tutorial site I have ever seen. Your clear pronunciation of each word and production of the whole videos is received very thankfully. Ilove being part of the Paper Crafter’s Library ~ Kay~
What a FABULOUS site! I love it! You and your sister are so talented! Thanks for sharing and all your hard work and time you put into it! . ~Linda~
Thank you for your fabulous site! I love it, and it’s my “go to” site of all time!! ~Gloria~
Not only do we have TONS of videos (almost 700!), not only do we add new videos 4-5 days a week, not only do members get to enjoy our current and future online classes for free (i.e. Club 52 – our year long technique club), but now……
As a Paper Crafter’s Library member you will ALSO have access to the digital tutorial version of ALL of the project kits we currently have in the Sunny Stampin’ Store! Yep, you heard that right.
And today, we’ve posted the first one – Blitzen Holiday Planner in a DVD Tin tutorial!
Here’s a picture of the front of the DVD tin:
The picture below shows you what the inside of the tin looks like. On the inside cover there are three decorated envelopes which you can use to store your receipts, as well as a little pencil. On the right side of the tin, an accordion insert pulls out with 5 pockets in all – three on the front (which you see below) and two at the back which you see in the third picture. The tin is decorated with products from the Bo Bunny Blitzen Collection,
The pockets are perfectly sized to hold our holiday planner inserts. The inserts themselves are sold in a bundle of 5 for $5 and include the following:
- a 15 month calendar from Oct. 2011 until December 2012 – allowing you to plan this year’s AND next year’s holiday
- A Gift buying list, where you can put the person’s name, your gift idea, the budgeted $ amount and a check-mark box
- A Stocking Stuffer list – where you can write the person’s name and the stocking stuffer ideas you have
- a Christmas Card list – where you can put the person’s name, address and a little “sent” check-mark box
- a Menu planner – where you can write down your menu ideas for any holiday gatherings
So there you have it, one more reason to become a member!
Stitched Stockings Class, A Blog Give-Away & A Coupon
Posted: Sunday, October 2nd, 2011 | CommentsFor this month’s class we’re continuing on with our Christmas theme. We’ve designed a class using Stampin’ Up!’s new Stitched Stockings stamp set, their Stocking Builder punch, their cherry cobbler baker’s twine and the ultra-adorable mini jingle bells. What a yummy combination! As part of this tutorial you’ll create four 3″ x 6″ cards (all of the same design), 4 tags (each a different design) and a cute stocking-shaped portfolio to hold them in!
As I do each month, I am offering two versions – a Stamp Class by Email version which is a step-by-step photo tutorial with over 80 full color photos, full supply list, a cutting guide and template for the box.
The Class Planner version for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators includes the Stamp Class by Email tutorial (called the Class to Go Handout) as well as all the additional materials you need to offer it as a class to your own customers. New this month – we’ve changed the format of the customer handout. We’ve created a separate pdf handout for EACH of the projects – that way you can pick and choose which ones you want to offer as part of a class, or maybe as a Make and Take for a workshop or open house.
Don’t have the time or space to offer traditional classes? Why not offer it as a kit to go? OR, did you know that you can use the Class to Go Handout as a purchasing incentive to your customers? When they place a $50 or more order of Stampin’ Up! product from YOU, you can give them this fabulous tutorial for free? But wait….there’s more….
As part of either the Stamp Class by Email AND the Class Planner you receive access to a private web page – and this month we have a video showing you how to make the card shawl. When you order the Class Planner version, you also receive the video embed code so that you can embed the video on your own blog and offer it as a bonus to your customers which took the class or received the tutorial as a gift with purchase?
There are so many different ways that demonstrators use my planners, yet regardless of which way they choose to use it, the one thing I hear over and over again is what a benefit they have been to their business. Are you interested in adding more to your business? You can purchase the class planner HERE.
If you are not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, but you’d like to learn how to make these projects then you can purchase the Stamp Class by Email version HERE.
Take $5.00 of your purchase of either the Stamp Class by Email OR the Class Planner when you use the coupon code CHRISTMAS. Simply enter it into the appropriate section of the cart and then hit apply. Please note that the coupon is only valid until Monday, October 10th.
*Please note, we are now offering the videos from this class to Paper Crafter’s Library subscribers as well as a written pdf on how to make the card basket. All other handouts – including the step-by-step photo tutorial, and features are remaining exclusive to the class planner/stamp class by email and will NOT be placed in Paper Crafter’s Library*
And now for a give-away! On Friday, October 7th Tuesday, October 11th, 5 lucky winners will receive the Stitched Stockings tutorial (supplies not included). All you have to do to enter is leave a comment in the comments section of this post. If you’ve never left a comment before all you have to do is to click on the title of the post, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your comment in the comment box. Merry Christmas Card with a Scalloped DP Border & the Winners of “My Gift Guide”
Posted: Monday, December 20th, 2010 | CommentsFor the last month or so I’ve been fighting a low grade cold – constantly sneezing (in the realm of 30 sneezes a day kind of sneezing) and sniffling. Well last week it finally decided to morph into a full blown cold. I spent quite a bit of time in bed and went through about 3 boxes of Kleenex all by myself. So if you’ve been wondering what on earth happened to the blog last week – that was it. I’m still not 100% but feeling well enough to do a little stamping.
Here’s how I made today’s card:
-
Die cut 6 different patterned strips of Jolly Holiday DP using your Big Shot and the Tastful Trim Bigz SL die (from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue – but being carried over to the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalogue).
-
Stick the patterned strips of DP to a Crumb Cake card base using SNAIL adhesive – position them so that the scallops on each strip are offset.
-
Lay a 7″ piece of Old Olive satin ribbon across the top of the card – bring the ends of the ribbon around to the inside of the card front and stick them down with SNAIL adhesive.
-
Cut two 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla CS and stick them to the insides of the card – the piece on the inside front will hide the ribbon ends.
-
Stamp the greeting from Contempo Christmas onto the card front in Basic Black Classic ink.
-
Tie a 12″ piece of Old Olive satin ribbon in a bow and stick it to the first ribbon piece with a mini glue dot.
-
Tie an Old Olive button around the center of the ribbon with a 10″ piece of linen thread.
-
Add green peel and stick rhinestones to the bottom of the scalloped piece of DP at the very bottom of the card. You’re done!

“The gift guide” project is brilliant. You are NOT alone when it comes to organizing. Especially at this time of the year, we all feel the pressure to multi-task so we fail. Love your projects…

Christmas Snowflakes Card featuring the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set & the winners of the class and workshop planner
Posted: Thursday, December 9th, 2010 | CommentsHi everyone – today’s post is a quick one featuring a Christmas card I created using a stamp set that’s a Stampin’ Up! oldie but goldie. From the moment I saw the Serene Snowflake stamp set it was on my “must have” list – the snowflakes are absolutely gorgeous. Stampin’ Up! really hit it out of the park with this one in my opinion! LOL
-
Randomly stamp snowflakes onto a 3″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White CS using Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake Classic inks.
-
Punch a border along a 3 3/8″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Not Quite Navy CS using the scallop trim border punch. Center and stick the Whisper White CS piece onto the Not Quite Navy CS piece.
-
Take a 6 1/4″ piece of satin ribbon (non-Stampin’ Up), lay it across the top of the Whisper White CS piece (about 1/2″ down from the top edge of the Whisper White CS), bring the ends around to the back of the CS and stick them down. Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! didn’t have a coordinating ribbon – the Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake seam binding ribbons from the new mini were too light and the effect was washed out.
-
Tie a 13″ piece of ribbon in a bow around the first piece.
-
Stamp your greeting (from Contempo Christmas) in the bottom right corner of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake CS.
-
Stick the image piece to the card front, about 1/4″ down from the top edge of the card.
-
Embellish with rhinestones from Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Rhinestones collection. You’re done!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.
I also wanted to announce the winners of the Vintage Valentine class and Aviary Workshop Planner. If your name was drawn then please email me at andrea@sunnystampin.com. Be sure to put “December class and workshop winner” in the subject line.
