Beate’s Sketch Challenge
Posted on: Saturday, May 19th, 2007Yesterday Beate posted a sketch challenge on her blog Fresh and Fun. As you’ve probably noticed, I love taking layouts and seeing what I can come up with, so of course I decided to participate. I used the Bundle of Joy stamp set from the Spring Mini, but I’m not sure whether I like how the card turned out. I feel like it’s missing something. I freehand cut the “wave” out of the Paisley pattern from the Sarah patterned paper, matted it onto Brocade Blue and then freehand cut out the mat. The card is So Saffron, and I stamped the moon and stars background in So Saffron Ink. The teddy bear was stamped in Black Staz On, and then water-colored in with a blender pen and Brocade Blue Ink. I punched it out using my Marvy mega scalloped punch and sponged brocade blue ink around the edges. I used my 1/8″ handheld punch to punch 2 holes at the neck of the bear and then created a faux bow using apricot ribbon. For a finishing touch I tied bluebird grosgrain and white organdy ribbon around the designer paper mat, and added a couple of silver brads in the top left hand corner. All supplies are Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise mentioned. Please click on the picture for a list of supplies. Thanks for looking!

This card is so cute – think I will have to get this set before the mini is finished.
